I wasn't rooting for Peeta or Gale. BUT, I did think that at first she was more compatible with Gale. But then Peeta kept on getting shoved in our face and the game and all so I was like, "Ok, Gale isn't happening so I guess this is the one they want us to like." It's not really a surprise that I didn't like the ending. Not really. I didn't actually finish it either. I know how it ends and because of that I am extending the period of time in which I finish it. No idea why either...my mind works in mysterious ways (weird ways).
Romance sells though, so you could have bet they were going to put it in there.
As to the movie. I saw it and it was ok. It's not great or anything, not for me anyway, but that's because I feel they toned down a lot. I liked the rawness of the book. The tension and all. I could sympathize with Katniss's inner turmoil and pain, where as in the movie you just pretty much just feel like an observer. But it's unfair to put such expectations on a movie, specially a book turned movie one. It was fine though. It's not one I excited to watch again after I finished it, usually that's how I know how much I liked it.
I don't read only supernatural because it gets boring, same reason I don't read supernatural manga.
I think I'm a bit insulted for the authors when you compare their work to Twilight. No offense to Meyer but her writing is sappy beyond belief. Not saying I don't like it, most days I want sappy, but anyway...
So I've been wanting to ask since you mentioned Hunger Games, who were you hoping Katniss ended up with? Did you like the movie?
im srry to tell you, but i use on-hold as a marking for mangas that i want to read, but haven't been translated xD
i wanna read it too... :(
Yeah I read The Hunger Games and they were nice :)
Yep YA, it's actually very nicely written, I'll let you know (when I finish it) how it was.
I am currently reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone, but it's been harder than I thought it would be for me to pass the 100 page mark. It works like that for me, it's not that I don't like the book but before the 100 pages I can not read it for days on end. While if I pass 100 pages I end up finishing it way faster. I get engrossed int eh story and voila.
I haven't been reading manga lately, sadly. I'm mostly trying to get my manga "currently reading" list down before so much time passes that I have to re-read them for them to make sense.
Eventually I'll have to re-read some anyway but it's annoying that I will have to not because I want to but because I forgot about it.
Hope you're doing good :-)
Thanx. Though I found the book enjoyable enough :)
