Sometimes I like to sit around and watch those ol' Chinese cartoons and read some mangos. Sometimes I have discussions about them cartoons on the interwebs. Sometimes I argue with my ol' chaps about these mangos. Sometimes I don't know what I'm talking about. Sometimes.
I like shows that can keep you entertained, but not mindfuck you with a shitload of useless information. Something maybe with a flair of romance, but not an eyesore of fanservice. A good, well-developed plot, not something you'd read in the newspaper comics. Basically, something that doesn't have me yelling "You fuckin' moron!" at the protagonist every five seconds.
If you're gonna try and make a comedy, don't make it just stupid shit like accidental boob grabs or whatever. Make it actually funny for fuck's sake! Don't call it a comedy if it only caters to the lowest common denominator, those morons would laugh at anything.
Then again, every genre has it's own unique characteristics. What a joy it is when the alternatives are explored though. A little darkness could add an excellent touch to an action anime. Madness, corruption, fear, insanity; all amusing themes to be explored.
I like it when you can call something artistic or, dare I say it, a masterpiece. It's become increasingly rare, but when it happens, it's beautiful. Like a good Scorcese film, it leaves you with a feeling of amazement and changes your life forever. That's what I look for in anime. (which is exactly why I watched Mars of Destruction..)
UPDATE: As of my time of writing this (6/13/2017) it's been well over a year since I've watched any anime. Pretty impressive right? Well unfortunately for me, I've been rewatching Steins;Gate and was considering giving anime a try again. Hopefully I don't..
Ok, one year later from that last one (6/25/18) and I'm still mostly clean, though I have been watching the Steins;Gate sequel. Also, this bio is disgusting and I'm not proud of my past self. Also, why the hell am I on an anime website..?

Thanks for the request!
I still get butthurt when I remember the second half of the show.
My new favorite quote, thank you.
Doesn't count, the OVA is already based on a video game.
