You can find me on Kitsu!
My life influence my opinion on anime.
General knowledge/education, basic and complex relationships and some self reflections mold who I am and what I believe in. My beliefs and traits are my references and inspiration when I attempt to determine what is good and bad in anime.
I'm a sucker for the underdog of the story because a failure like me could always use some hope.
I'm a sucker for tragedy because it reminds me to be grateful.
I'm a sucker for complex romance because in life, I had a taste of what true love is like.
I'm a sucker for parental relationships because there's always something for me to learn to be a better father.
I look at things in the perspective of who I was or who I am at a certain point in time.
Sometimes I look at things in the eyes of my past, when I was young, naive and have no responsibilities but full of curiosities.
Sometimes I look at things in the eyes of the present. The eyes of a close friend. The eyes of a hardened soul. The eyes of a loving father.
People would look at my ratings and think that I'm too lenient and I agree. I am very lenient in my ratings, but my reasoning is that I always consider the effort and time of the many that gave us the one thing for us to enjoy. Once we're done, generally we would toss it aside and move on. I've made many things for many people, so I know the exact feeling of having your work taken for granted.
People will not always agree with me and that is fine. I just want to recommend things that will either make you smile or move you emotionally.
I've had many mottos, but the one that takes the highest priority have always been: "A good day doesn't start until I give someone their first smile."
I truly believe the world can bond with a single smile. Hopefully we can all smile as we share our favorite anime to each other.
A close friend of mine is more pessimistic, but they're also more realistic than I and they happen to have a good quote on fear and it pulls me back to reality whenever I feel like I'm too optimistic for my own good.
"This is what the world is really like. We are cowards. We can think we aren't but we are. We will all fall to it one day. There is no courage without fear. One day we can be a coward. The next day we can be a hero. I haven't found how to control it, even with all my strength."

My very first anime was in 1996, I was 4 when I watched an episode of Sailor Moon. I really enjoyed it. Not as much as my sister though, but I really dig the opening song. The one that stood out to me and made me absolutely obsessed with anime was Pokemon. I think that was in 98' because I clearly remember watching the very first episode when it aired on TV. (My two biggest crushes were Nurse Joy and the Pink Ranger. Good times....)
My first manga was a Yugioh manga. I was at a daycare at 10 years of age when a girl showed me one volume where Yugi was facing Mokuba and they were playing with Capsule Monsters. She even taught me to read it from right-to-left. Haha
Nowadays, I'm playing catch up on anime and manga. I want to catch up on my novel readings as well, ones that aren't related to Japanese culture. There's never enough time to consume the media, but I do what I can.
