Yeah, I was feeling teary right from the beginning. Even the "not so emotional" scenes were making my eyes really wet.

A friend of mine is actually a massive fan of Your Lie In April. So I am definitely going to watch it in the near future. However, I don't think it's going to be as good Koe no Katachi. I won't know for sure until I watch it, though.

Well, I watched the movie prior to reading the manga and I still loved it. However, I did read the manga after a while and saw how much of it wasn't adapted in the movie.

But, I still think the movie is great. Although it did leave some sub-plots unadapted, it was created in such a way that didn't make the fact obvious. I think that's a quite difficult thing to do.

The ending was just too much for me by the way. I cried my eyeballs out to be honest.

Yeah! When it finished airing, I remember giving it a 10/10 and then it started to rise above 7.95... and then dropped again. It blows my mind too.

Especially because I've never experienced an anime so atmospheric, so beautiful – so full of life and character development in such a short amount of time.

So happy to find someone who loves Flip Flappers as much as I do. Really seems underrated.

And yes, Shouwa is easily the dark horse of this season and an automatic contender for aoty for me. And as for the Ping Pong comparison I agree completely. I think you should checkout House of Five Leaves. Like Shouwa, 5 Leaves is criminally underrated and handles its characters with finesse. It also have a tranquil atmosphere like Shouwa as well. It's more simply than Shouwa but what it did well it did exceedingly well. I believe you would like it :)

Why did u rate Higurashi season 2 a 1????? The second season gave clarification of all the mysteries that popped up in season 1, resulting in a satisfying ending. The first season was really good with the horror element that it had going for it, but the second season really showed it has more than just gore and bat shit crazy girls, it showed it can embed the mystery genre very well.
