I'm admittedly pretty hesitant about isekai but I am curious to see why people like it, so I asked about people's favorite worlds since it's a genre where you can think up any world you want with whatever cultural fantasies you might come up with.
I finally made a new original thread lol

I actually thought of you because I've been watching the YYH anime lately, its so good. Botan is awesome, she has so many good lines that werent in the manga :-)
Your comments on Yuki-chan were totally coherent enough, I apologize for not commenting on them before. Thanks again for all the feedback, honestly one of my favorite parts of Disappearance is seeing Haruhi without her powers so I do a have a vague interest in an entity in the franchise that explores that more. Its definitely not high priority as of now, but I would like to watch it eventually, and I'll definitely report my feelings back to you when I do finish it. I might end up reading the manga instead though, sometimes shows I'm hesitant about can be better consumed in that format.
It is really sad that Haruhi never got a third season Kyo-ani instead though (although understandable after the backlash from the endless eight). If you ever get around to the light novels, I think you'll really enjoy some of the later arcs, which are less cinematic than the ones adapted but definitely very enjoyable and just more specific adventures with the characters. Kyon's narration can be really goddamn hilarious/emotional at times too.
My favorite character for Genshiken is not definite, I feel like it switches every time I think about the story. Saki is admittedly probably it though, shes just really funny and endearing with her role in the group as the story progresses. I find her very cute too and I think she has the best dialogue a lot of the time. I agree with you about Ougie, she's cute and her stubbornness is really funny. One of my favorite scenes is the one where she embarrassedly shows Sasahara her yaoi involving him and he gets turned on by it. Their relationship has a nice feeling to it for sure, the buildup is nice and not too forced.
Also I finished Princess Tutu! Its really interesting how much the show changed throughout in both tone and plot. The last few episodes definitely wrapped up all the intersecting stories while still remaining unpredictable and fascinating, and I liked the big reveal about it all being a progressing story and uncontrollable fate for the characters. The final image of Fakir fishing next to Ahiru is really emotional too ;-; Overall really good, as I dont have much more to add outside of what I said yesterday, and I'm glad I watched it. I feel like I don't hear a lot of people talk about it compared to some other darker magical girl shows like Utena and obviously Madoka (maybe because its aimed more at a younger audience and not as violent/psychologically intense), and that's a shame. I could definitely see myself rewatching it again in the future (without that year in-between viewings) and only growing to enjoy it more over time.
Genshiken means a lot to me too, and I'm really glad you seemed to enjoy it overall. It sounds cheesy but it is what made me begin to have an interest in college outside of just a feeling that I "had" to go. Just the very thought of meeting all these different and unique people somewhat similar to me made me really excited, and still does now. I felt very much like Sasahara in that regard (even if I relate more to Ohno and Ougie on a personal level). That's just the magic of Genshiken though, as you said I think its super realistically written and the characters are all relatable. I also love how detailed and fleshed out the universe is with its parody/depth into different shows and otaku-culture, plus it can be hilarious at times.
That being said, I definitely wasn't as crazy about the second series (post volume 9) of it. I can't say that I dislike it overall, I do still think it remains just as well drawn and detailed, I really like the scene where Madarame and Saki confront their interacting feelings towards each other, some of the new characters are nice [I like Hato], its still very funny a lot of the time, I kind of was into the focus on fujoshi since a lot of the focus was on the guys' interests in the first series, etc. etc. Still, I think it overstayed its welcome a little bit and I feel like the final arc with Madarme's "harem" was really overdrawn and sort of just fanservicey/too unrealistic compared to a lot of the other stuff in the series. I didn't think it ruined the story or anything, but its certainly the weakest portion. The first series is a 10/10, the second is probably a 7/10 for me. Definitely still good and enjoyable but never quite the glory that the early volumes were. I still gave it a 10/10 overall and consider it my favorite manga though just because of its impact on me and how much I love the characters and overall presentation of it. How did you feel about the shift between the two series? I know some people were even more frustrated/critical about it than me, and my overall feelings of nostalgia and warmth to the series as a whole might be blurring my memories a bit.
