“We know what we are, but know not what we may be.”
~ William Shakespeare
Roll The Credits
by : Kit McCallum
"I slipped into the theatre, unnoticed by the crowd,
Disguised by heavy sunglasses, and hidden ‘neath a shroud;
I found a seat toward the back, and settled in, unseen,
As “Coming Soon” attractions played upon the silver screen.
The audience was restless – murmurs grew throughout the horde,
Each chatting there amongst themselves, some thrilled and others bored;
I heard some conversation, just some snippets as they talked,
“They say it’s quite the story!” People whispered, blabbed and mocked.
“It’s autobiographical,” I heard from up ahead,
“It’s loosely based upon the life of some poor soul,” she said.
I sunk a little lower to the depths within my seat,
And hunkered down with mixed emotion, popcorn at my feet.
An endless time elapsed until a hush fell through the air,
The flash of “Feature Presentation” calmed the people there;
They settled in as titles rolled, and names of cast were played,
A potpourri of famous stars was patently displayed.
The music faded, as the picture came into it’s own,
And there before me, played my life, with all it’s drama shown;
The audience was mesmerized – they cried, they joked, they cheered,
At times they oohed and awed in shock, while others laughed and jeered.
I watched the actors play their parts, portraying all I’d known,
A lifetime shrunk to ninety minutes, cut to barest bone;
They made it more exciting than it ever was to me ...
Exaggerating all that I had somehow come to be.
Decisions I had made in life were amplified and skewed,
I watched the parody unfold, though somewhat misconstrued;
Before I knew it, it was done, the crowd began to clap,
Applauding for the drama ... while my hands stayed in my lap.
I listened as the audience reviewed my final fate,
While exiting the theatre in lively, strong debate;
They pondered there amongst themselves, as if they knew me well,
Amazed at how I’d waded through this life I’d known as hell.
I kept my seat and watched the final credits on the screen,
The accolades to all who’d set the stage and played the scene;
Directors, sound effects, producers, editors and grips,
The list was never-ending – all the standard closing quips.
My name was nowhere on the list, but as the credits rolled,
In front of me, in black and white, the final story scrolled;
“These characters are just fictitious, no one real,” it said,
“They bear no true resemblance to those living or those dead.”
Alone within the theatre, I pondered on that phrase,
For far too long, I’d wandered through a catatonic haze;
Alive, and yet not living ... numb enough to be deceased,
I’d finally broken from the mold ... I’d finally been released.
The lights came up, the screen went blank, “their” story ended there,
I brushed the popcorn from my lap, and stood up from my chair;
“The End” was just a common phrase ... for little did they know,
“The Future” was the title ... of the sequel to this show."
Random Question of the Day :
If not now, then when?
WORDS OF WISDOM:
People are often unreasonable,
illogical, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind,
people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful,
you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank,
people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building,
someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness,
they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today,
people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have,
and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

I helped my friend move to his new house Fri. Sat., so my shoulders are not feeling the greatest.
I've been reading some Chinese light novels, my favorite has been Tales of Demons and Gods followed by Upgrade Specialist in Another World, and then Martial God Asura. You can read these on wuxiaworld.com if your interested. Tales of Demons and Gods also has a manhua which you can find on the various manga sites.
What have you been up to?
Just did my taxes last week which is always O so much fun. Not much else going on.
I watch a few movies in theater recently here's my thoughts on them. Deadpool 8/10 I loved seeing deadpool on the big screen as I love the comics. My problems with the film is the excessive use of sexual jokes, while deadpool has always been crass the character doesn't rely on sexual jokes making the majority of the jokes told. Eddie the Eagle 6/10 a feel good sports movie, but it's not on the level of Cool Runnings or Mighty Ducks. Batman v Superman 6/10 Ben Afleck was fantastic as Batman, however the direction, editing, and script were sub par.
10 Cloverfield Lane 7/10 John Goodman shows his amazing acting chops in this movie. The tension is well built up and maintained throughout the movie.
New anime Erased 9/10 along the line of Stein;Gate this anime is extremely good and I was intrigued throughout.
Any new anime caught your interest?
Gate has been very enjoyable with a gate opening from another world and an army coming through Japan... and the Japanese army slaughters them. They then proceed through the gate and set up defenses and the anime discusses politics, war, and different cultures meeting.
Overlord is an anime that the main character becomes his video game character and him, his NPC characters, and his base are sent to another world. It's been very enjoyable, however there hasn't been anyone to provide the MC with a real challenge, so the conflict doesn't have weight to it so I'm hoping that it gets another season. There has been some tension the last three episodes and foreshadowing comparable power levels in the future.
Kuusen Madoushi has received quite a bit of hate if you look at the reviews, which I believe is quite undeserving. The anime is about a world that has been invaded and the survivors live on flying islands protected by sky wizards. There are a number of cliche`s throughout, but the anime is about teamwork, understanding and improving one's self and their teammates, training and strategies used to improve a sky wizard team that's ranked as the lowest team in the academy. How main character goes about making this team come together and actually cooperate and sync together is what makes this anime interesting.
Also one I would suggest not seeing is Dragon Ball Super *sigh* after GT this has just been such a continuation of the dissatisfying viewing experience. I suspect I will drop this shortly.
