Hello! I read your Beck review and I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who didn't think the series was good as others made it out to be. I agree with your points on the lack of production quality the show had. Seeing Madhouse as the studio for the anime, I had high expectations but was pretty much disappointed with the bland-ish color schemes. Your review was brief but informative, cheers!

Interesting review for the BECK anime, and I respect your thoughts while also believing in the fact that the manga is marginally better.

At the Anime Guild our main specialization is being a Seasonal Club. We are getting close on making that final turn this season.
We do choose the best Opening, Ending, Character and of course Anime of the Season with also a Discord Channel and a Power Ranking Group.

What I'm doing with it currently is matching scraped AP anime titles against a pre-generated AP-->MAL list. That probably won't be too useful for you, since AP titles will in all likelihood be quite different from ANN's titles.

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/181781/ap-mal-mapper.py might be of more help; this is what I'm using to generate the AP-->MAL mappings. It has a 5-second timer set between MAL searches, but even with that in place, I've found that the API seems to start dropping searches really quickly once you've submitted more than a few searches in succession.

You might want to start by matching ANN titles to entries in ap-mal-map.json (in the zip file) as far as possible, before resorting to MAL search (you might need to get your own MAL user agent string at http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=692311). The json format is described in anime_planet_xml_list_exporter.py (in the zip file).

Great review on an anime flick that's not all that well known. It was an amusing experience to say the least as it's not something I expected when I first watched it.
