My pen-name, Bakamoichigei, is taken from a Japanese idiom roughly meaning 'Even a fool has one talent'. Also previously (And still sometimes) known as 'Baka-chan' for short. I am the Overlord of the
Giant Pachinko Machine of Doom, maker of
COOL THINGS, and this planet's future God-Emperor.
I am a graphic artist, photographer, 3D modeler, self-taught mechanical engineer, machinist, mad scientist, and qualified mecha pilot rated for both terrestrial and space operation. I have been watching anime since the 1980s.
I can understand spoken Japanese fairly well, though I still have trouble expressing myself in Japanese beyond common phrases. My reading ability is still so-so...I blame kanji.
I like mahjong and play modern Japanese 'riichi' mahjong with my family on occasion. I own a very nice set of old mahjong tiles made by Nintendo.
I enjoy classic 2D fighters, shmups, and 16-bit era console games. I am also a certified NEO-GEO geek, with my own arcade cabinet and a growing library of cartridges.
As of December 2014, I am a KanColle TTK... You may see me refer to that damnable game as 'Boat This! ~Lewd Boat Daughters~' or something similar... I tease it out of love, honest!
My taste in anime isn't well defined, and I'm willing to give just about anything a 3-episode trial, but I have some basic guidelines that usually hold true unless a show really stands out: I can only watch moe anime if it's really funny. I don't watch sports anime. I like action, but prefer semi-realistic action like Black Lagoon. (i.e. seinen manga instead of shounen manga.) I like mecha anime, but dislike super robot shows. I like space sci-fi, cyberpunk, and steampunk. Gundam? UC or GTFO! SIEG ZEON!
I am considered by many to be a fairly serious gaijin otaku, though I lack a lot of the more
kimoi aspects of otakudom. (Most notably the fact that my apartment looks fairly normal, as I don't collect figures or buy posters or anything like that. Well... Maybe 'normal' is stretching it, since it's a mad scientist's lab and mecha factory.)
I think that about covers it.

In the manga, Iroha's attempts to be more circumspect in describing Shuusuke's masturbatory habits are drawn out a little longer, and her finally getting flustered and blurting it out was a little more extreme. Still, epic lulz. I have to admit, if a girl suddenly started describing to me how I whack off, I'd try and throw myself off a roof, too.
I will admit, there's no character development, but that's because they had to simplify EVERYTHING. Look, umm, the Fate Stay Night anime was based on the "Fate" arc of the novel, which takes over 10 hours to finish, the anime had 24 eps.(520 min.) and that was not enough. The UBW arc of the novel is even longer, so they had to cut stuff for the 1.45 hours of the movie. I already did the UBW arc of the novel and I think that the movie followed it very well (besides cutting character development and some other stuff).
I believe that to understand this movie you should atleast watch the anime, because the movie cuts the Magi, side stories, Shirou's Dad, and other things that are not mentioned in the movie. I'm not criticizing you, I'm just telling you this because I thought you were a little unfair on this movie. I ain't trollin'!
PS: Moe is a disease that will eventually kill anime.
The movie is not a continuation of the series, it is a standalone story adapted from another part of the VN. The fact that it is nigh-unwatchable unless you know everything about the F/SN universe is called BAD STORYTELLING. The writers failed. The producers failed. And the director failed.
It's 105 minutes of fansturbation, not a movie. And if you claim otherwise, you're an idiot.
If someone made a movie adaptation of a book, with ZERO NARRATIVE because you're supposed to have read the book first, it would be the last film they ever made. It would FATALLY CRATER their career.
I'm not talking about "If you read the book first, it enriches the movie experience." I'm talking about "If you wanted to have ANY IDEA WHAT'S GOING ON you should have read the book first!" you can't do it, it's not to be done. And when it is, well... The movie self-destructs.
The sad thing is, that won't happen with UBW because it's full of all these flashing lights and cool shiny shit to distract from the fact that there is no story at all. Between the people content with that, and the people who help feed the moeblob beast, I'm glad anime is going to die.
For now, I'm mostly adding stuff as I re-watch them. (And trying to remember the original watch dates as best I can.)
In my old age MAL is becoming an important tool to remember my animus... -_-;
