I really resonated with one of your comments on the epsiode 7 thread of Mushoku Tensei s2p1:

The viewer doesn't watch this and think to themselves "man that was really messed up" and then get to see the journey of his self-improvement. The scene is played as a total joke and just go through the comments here and you'll see that people find it funny as shit. Which to be clear, I'm not saying is wrong. It's fiction, not reality. So if the author wants to make it a joke, they're allowed to and people can find it funny. But how are you going to make a story about improving these flaws, when you don't actually communicate to the viewer that these are flaws. In fact, the author even makes a point of having some of the characters be into his genuinely creepy behavior.
You can't exactly have your cake and eat it too. If these flaws are played for laughs, then the viewer isn't gonna take them seriously as a result. And if the viewer doesn't take them seriously, then his journey out of them will essentially be rendered meaningless. Although seeing the direction the story is going and seeing how people already in season 1 said that he had grown out of his creepy behavior and even now they're still saying it, despite what this episode showed us, I very much doubt the validity of the statement that he will grow out of it as the journey progresses.
That´s what has made it really hard for me to fully enjoy the show. Even though still cringeworthy, I was mostly able to ignore this aspect of the show in season one, but here it is especially hard to ignore. But judging from the comments, the majority enjoys it. I just hope THEY can actually distinguish between ficition and reality, saying stuff like "Rudeus reacted the way I'd imagine most people would if their most precious figurine of their favourite anime/game character was smashed to little fragments...". Uhm, how about no?!

They spoil, they overhype, they ruin fanbases and so on and so forth. In fact, I'd argue that anime watchers are even worse in many aspects. I'd say they tend to have more toxic fanbases than manga readers for instance. But I'm assuming despite this you wouldn't say "I hate anime watchers".
I think the core problem is that you're focusing on problems that manga readers may bring about, just so they can be put under the umbrella of "manga readers" whilst simultaneously ignoring the fact that many of these problems aren't exclusive to manga readers. And in fact often encompasses anime watchers too. As well as ignoring many anime exclusive problems.
It's like you're only looking at one side of the coin.
Which is exactly why I said at the end of the message:

Of course, if anyone lists enough bad things about anything, it's going to look bad. I don't hate all manga readers, just the types of ones that I listed.
Legit, I could write the same thread about Anime watchers……………🤔 actually that doesn't sound like a bad idea. Gotta keep the trend going.
