just browsed my list and found something like that, take your time to read my thoughts about these, well, basically boogiepop 2019 was a bit detective, supernatural, mystery, real world setting, serious characters, no out of place comedy, some of them are something like that.
alien 9: a group of girls have to fight some aliens but the anime is very psychological, it's not really about battles and there is a mystery about the aliens and some stuff
mononoke: the anime is cut into several story arcs, each one has an interesting mystery and one man who possesses supernatural powers has to defeat the "monsters", historical setting though
bem: 3 human-like monsters live in some city, they fight other monsters, episodic anime, there is an overall mystery, it was pretty interesting
B the beginning: police, mystery, there is one guy who has powers and fights other guys with powers
zankyou no terror: 2 boys are terrorists, no supernatural but plenty of mystery
babylon: a policeman tries to discover a murderer who has some powers, mystery
boku no chikyuu wo mamotte: a bit girly anime, there's a girl and some other teens who have some dreams and then they discover they have some powers, there's another one fighting against them from the shadows because he has some objective
bokurano: robot anime, very psychological, mystery
boogiepop phantom (2000): original interpretation of the novels, kinda different than boogiepop 2019 but a must watch for a fan in my opinion
ergo proxy: confusing anime, mystery, more SF than supernatural, it's more dark that the new one
eve no jikan: about robots, no supernatural, teen characters, it has a mystery and it's pretty serious
subete ga f ni naru: detective story, no supernatural, a bit spooky, maybe boring but check the synopsis
ghost hunt: high school girl and other mature characters as mains, ghost stuff, mystery
haibane renmai: more like slice of life, a bit philosophical, a bit boring, no mystery but it reminds me a bit of boogiepop for some reason
lain: very confusing and weird anime with a weird atmosphere about artificial intelligence and god-like things
harmonie: one episode with some characters and their dreams, looks like some sorta boogiepop story arc
higurashi no naku koro ni: strange murders in a little town back in the 80s, supernatural, 15 year old characters
ID Invaded: SF about some killing and a detective in jail going into killers' dreams, pretty interesting
shinreigari: young characters, very supernatural, mystery, real life setting in the countryside
kokkoku: fun anime to watch, supernatural, adult characters
kurau phantom memory: SF, about a girl and some powers she has, more action oriented
mouryou no hako: detective anime about a strange killer and some missing girls, he may or may not possess powers
suzumiya haruhi no yuuutsu: high school boys and girls but the suprenatural mysteries aren't that impressive and the stakes aren't that high, it's fun to watch, it's not that serious and has some comedy but the relationship between the friends are very cool to follow
occultic nine: fast paced anime, it resembles a lot with boogiepop but it's weird what can I say, it also has a girl with giant boobs for some reason (don't know if you like or dislike it)
paranoia agent: complicated anime, psychological and supernatural, very mysterious, lots of characters, episodic but it all ties
hope some of them will be good for you, if you have some questions or can't find the exact anime let me know, I can send you the correct mal link, also, try sakurada reset from your ptw, it's good and a bit like boogiepop
