it's the second best manga I've read and I have yet to finish it. It's great in every single aspect that makes manga... manga. I try to be fair when scoring anime and manga so don't think I'm being too biased towards it. if you like stories set in Japanese samurai era then this is the best of its kind. Extremely detailed world building, great action scenes, great artwork, both in artstyle and shot composition, unique and great main characters, story is unlike anything you've seen or read. It mostly episodic but individuals stories are not separated from the main plot nor do they vary in quality too much.
Samurai champloo is from the same director and it's just as cool. Redline has one of the best animations you'll ever see in anime. Hellsing ultimate ,well,i forgot about it but i remember having a lot of fun watching it. Gurren Lagann is one of my favorite anime although i don't remember it much now. I remember jumping out of my seat almost at every episode, especially at the second half. It's glorious in every aspect, even though i think i remember it being a bit slow at the middle. Baccano! Imagine a Quentin Tarantino movie but on drugs. It's like that Kaiji is the most intense anime i've ever seen. This one i can guarantee that will keep clicking the next episode. Huner x Hunter 2011 is already hailed as one of the best shounen of all times by majority, which can be seen by it's score. Personally it's at top 5 favorites because how it keeps itself fresh ( even though it varies in quality at each arc ) and because of that MUTHAFUCKIN CHIMERA ANT ARC - which is one of the best things i've ever seen, ever. As for the action scenes, they are a lot more developed than most other shounen. Rather than power levels and who will use the bigger attack, it's battles contain a lot of use of brain. There is no such things as power of friendship and battles are constantly fun to watch. I don't think there are any bad battles in the series.
That's about it,pick any of these and you won't regret watching it. Enjoy :)
Why not finish Bebop? If you love it then you are gonna shed tears by the end.
As for me Bebop is one of the first anime i've seen and it blew me away when i finished it so , two years later, i'm returning to it to see what i think of it now and so far...it's super fun!
I just love it how well Shinichiro Watanabe combines all the elements together in this series. There are no dull moments, you always have to experience something, whether it be music, visuals, funny, sad moments, character interaction, fight scenes and not only are they all great when looked individually, when they are put together by amazing directing skills of Watanabe, they sure make me have a whole lot of fun.
As for other anime recommendation, tell me if you have any specific genre or setting in mind. I'm not so sure what to recommend.
Honestly, other than the shows we've already mentioned, I haven't found any other standouts this season. Udon no Kuni is my fluffy slice of life for now, but admittedly it's nothing special. I'm also growing more fond of Flip Flappers; it's the most creative anime I've seen in recent years. And of course there's Natsume Yuujinchou and Haikyuu, which are solid as always, but those are sequels.
Mm, I heard Majime is portrayed differently in the live action film. I might have to take a look at it as well.
No worries, I don't log in all that often either, haha. I also find Majime an interesting and somewhat relatable character, with his social anxiety and inability to speak coherently when faced with a pretty girl.
I have a feeling you would like Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita. It's a satire/social commentary with a female protagonist who's very snide and cynical, similar to the one in Gi(a)rlish Number (or so I've heard).
3-gatsu no Lion and Yuri on Ice aren't bad! I'm just not a fan of the comedy in either, though that's just me and my weird tastes. Fortunately Fune wo Amu is more up my alley. The show is actually somewhat remiscent of Rakugo, with a mundane yet interesting concept (dictionary-making) and subdued presentation of the characters and setting. Plus, the creator of Rakugo happens to be the character designer for Fune wo Amu (not that this is an indicator of its quality though). I'm feeling pretty good about this one.
Gi(a)rlish Number wasn't even on my radar until relatively late in the season. From what I've heard it's a super snarky version of Shirobako. I might pick it up later, but right now I have no room since I'm already following 8 shows this season.
All the shows you listed are the ones I'm interested in as well, especially 3-gatsu no Lion and Fune wo Amu. Yuri on Ice's premiere was decent, though I wish they'd tone down the comedy. And yeah, I've heard the exact same about Flip Flappers — that it's pretty but nonsensical. I'll probably check it out but I wouldn't be surprised if it's not my thing.
Just three more months for Shouwa Genroku 2! The last time I was this excited for an upcoming anime was when Mushishi Zoku Shou was announced.

Always happy to see Rakugo and Mushishi fans! Indeed we have 67,9 affinity. That number has to mean something!
Have a good day !
It's pretty fun, adventurous, mysterious, and soon enough...dark. It may end up falling apart later on but for now,it's decent to good.

Are you planning to watch anything during the fall season?
