IM BACK!!...AND I STILL LIKE TO WATCH ANIME....I GUESS.
Look, I’ve never been one to break down everything from the music to the sound FX to the whatever.
I can appreciate good art, I like when the voice acting is good (hardly tell the difference anyway). Got a jamming soundtrack to it? Awesome. What matters to me the most, is the story itself, and its depth. I don’t care about BS social commentary abstract artsy stuff. I want to be entertained, which happens when I get to watch an interesting concept laid out by a well executed plot that gets my heart pumping. Ya know?. I want to feel moved by the story being laid out before me. To be moved to both laugh and cry with the characters. "Drawn into its world" if you will. When an anime can do that, then I think it's done its job.
I want to be told a story.
So what about you? Know any good stories?
If so then please by all means recommend them to me.

hisoka is a very good character,i love it
i also love kagura´s seiyuu ,love her voice ,and love kagura chan, love gintama <3
Ha it's actually the theme of my manga-list, misaka trying to blow away something and the anime titles are the dust-clouds that follow. the difficulty represents how little she ever actually hits anyone with it XD
Character development is great. I get what you're saying. It's the whole reason I read the manga and am planning to start the LN over summer.
There'll be a bit more of it in season 2 and the original content.
As for saten, she makes me want to read the LN even more! Although something tells me that her powers will be introduced in the manga first instead. I think her power will probably end up being one of the most powerful in the whole series when it's presented. I mean with a name like Saten in a series where the writer has gone through extensive research of several world religions, she's going to end up pretty bad-ass
Middle schoolers have it tough in Japan
I kinda miss our little RP battle/creative writing.
Essay time!
As for railgun. There's quite a few reasons I like the series, I'll try to explain is with the least amount of spoilers possible:
I just started the series pretty much right before I joined MAL and...
1- The length. It's been a while since I've had a series that felt satisfying. With it's 48 episodes across it's 2 seasons and the 48 episodes of the original content that's a 96 episode series right there. Just long enough for me to stop right as i was starting to get a bit bored of it. I was watching Index and Railgun at the same time.
2- I'm not that into it, just thought it'd be funny when I tried adding one misaka to the list like 20 others popped up. I don't actually have a particular favorite character so might as well. I mean noone really cares much about who my favorite characters anyways.
3- Railgun was pretty solid. They did a good job incorporating the much needed slice-of-life elements to the action that the series always fell back to.
4- I read this, it's from the epilogue of the last LN, there's a single spoiler in there about a pretty awesome scene but you'll be fine:
[spoiler]
From another perspective, Accelerator who’s been written as a “dark hero” has traces of a Saint in him. He has the kind of feeling that a person who has committed a great sin but then stepped onto the difficult road to redemption in order to redeem themselves gives off.
As proof of surpassing his trials, his wings have completely changed colors... I’ve wanted to try writing a scene like this for a long time now.
From the bottom of his heart, what Accelerator wants is not a lover but a family. In spite of knowing nothing about what a family is, he’s still been able to act as a parent for Last Order (though it’s unknown whether as a father or a mother), although there are some contradictions with how he acts as a child around Yomikawa and Yoshikawa (most prominently, the scene in Volume 15 where Yomikawa takes the gun out of his hands).
While being a symbol of his past, the title of a “Villain” had also given him a good reason to run away. In this Volume 22 where he surpasses being chained down by “Good” and “Evil”, he undoubtedly will now head towards the direction of a “family”.
lol jk
yea I actually just found out that my school's bookstore has some manga. definitely going back there to read onsite lol. if you're looking for a good LN I recommend you start with some of the more popular ones. Or stuff your favorite shows are based on.
And hopefully one day my Japanese will be good enough that I can actually read stuff fluently
To know the characters better and to learn what'll happen in the plot sooner.
I read almost all my Light Novels from fan-based translations so what I say might not be true for the official translations.
some of them are pretty fun to read. Though others are quite boring too. And the ones depends on personal preference/tastes/ quality of translation / quality of writing.
And yes they are pretty easy, at least from the fan translated english versions that I read on Baka-Tsuki
I tried reading a Japanese one and I was like @_@ but I've only taken 2 quarters of Japanese.
A light novel is a form text from Japan that comes in the form of thin books (around 3-4 chapters) that contains a few drawn images throughout. Generally they are told from the 3rd person's point of view and contain a lot of dialogue.
Co-write a LN haha
I get 60% of profits :p
As our heroes go through their daily quarrels, unbeknownst to them is an ancient evil waiting to take over the world!
**evil laughter coming from some brightly lit cave in some shady mountains in some faraway land.**
a mysterious voice echoes come my children, rise! Muwahahahahahaha
crackling bones, floating skulls, wandering ghosts and even those who are long dead are now walking.
The earth starts shaking as the army of undead now scatter the valley.
