Sorry for tardiness, I've been a bit busy as of late, which rarely happens, catches me off guard every time. Haha wow you write books or something? I try, but I don't succeed to any commendable degree, though I have gotten much better recently.
You must be a very diligent patron of the arts. =) Yes, of course, you're correct; I guess different colored repetitions just reminded me of his style, which I'm really not a fan of in the first place. I couldn't really form the words to explain to even describe why I didn't like his work, though.
Exactly, hell's fury isn't insultingly garrulous and I'd much rather be burned alive for an eternity than be scolded. =P /Cue stand up comedy routine "What's the deal with men not knowing what we did wrong?"
Now you're just fishing for compliments, ya know, haha!? You're making me feel dumb, more than the norm, if that counts for anything.
Right, doing "new" New Art kinda spoils the newness. Plus, mimicking the style really isn't practicing it, or doing justice to it. Art done with digital art tools just can't compare to physical materials to me. I miss water colors and such the most. If it didn't become socially unacceptable by first grade for some reason, I'd still be saying crayons are delicious. I don't know what secession still glasses are? See? Ignorance, ignorance eveywhere. I embrace it, though, like Socrates before me.
I played FF7 when it came out and I was incredibly young, so...I mean, I couldn't have been the only one who thought he was a woman at first, right? Man, I'd love to see that, but searching for traps of anime males is a downward spiral, passing yaoi and much worse!
Very well put. I think that can apply to a lot of entertainment: things don't have to be overtly educational to enlighten someone, nor do they have to shove ideas down the viewer's throat to be respected as intellectual. Folklore and myth are huge inspirations of mine, but it's a difficult dig finding it in entertainment, though some supernatural TV shows give brief doses of it. I like Star Wars, but it was hardly original, even then. It was essentially the classic sword and sorcery type deal in space. Darth Vader, the dark knight, Emperor Palpatine, the evil wizard, Princess Leia, the...princess, etc! What's my point? I don't know.
Definitely, and its a shame that its descendant works, sequels (Advent Children, ergh), prequels, and tie-ins, have failed to capture that level of livelihood, at least to me. That's what keeps art alive, though, that deliberate ambiguity. Gotta say, if you were a marketer for Mononoke you'd certainly have gotten a sale. =P It sounds like a series one could dig deep with, which is possible with most, but to a lesser extent than I'm getting the impression here. At the end of the day, you just can't really argue taste, is what I tell my trolls!
No, not at all, you're merely being analytical. Old angry me would just insult it and explain why I insulted it. I disagree, however, that learning to empathize better is what a Christian and zealot of relativism should do: learning to empathize better is what every human being should do. If they don't, then it should be cultivated, at least in my ideal world.
REALLY? Oh no, I find Gankutsuou to be a fascinating re-imagining of a classic work, not a defilement. It was also a gateway drug into the story. I haven't read the book all the way through, but I plan to this summer, and I have seen many movie adaptations. I don't blame you, though, it's easy to be biased when you've read the original. My childhood is very rape-able, though, so I don't mind. =D How's that for relativism? I don't mind cliches; I am a cliche', but yeah they played it pretty safe which, I agree, was very annoying! I loved Gankutsuou, not as a Count of Monte Cristo story, but as its own work it had a lot of suspense and drama most anime series can't capture. A more faithful anime adaptation would surpass it no problem, though.
I plan to read it over the summer. Very couteous of you! =) Even the best movies of it don't follow its story completely. It's peculiar.
I wish they had a MyOperaList, then, because by the time I get through my Plan to Watch here I'll never remember! MyGameList would be splendid, too. Hilarious as in cheesy or hilarious as in absurd? There is kind of a difference. =P Those both sound awesome, though, I have heard of The Song of Roland, but I plead ignorance yet again.
Much thanks, I'm a poor imitation of those movie critics who put more effort into their tag-lines than into their actual reviews. =) Puss in Boots isn't the greatest journey you'll take this summer, but the boots were made for walkin'! Something like that. THE QUESTION, lol. A 5 isn't too high for it, is it? I mean, it looks nice and sounds nice, that's at least a 3 right there. You know what, you're right, I really didn't enjoy that movie at all; I'm completely lost as to why that's a 5.
ROFL, wow I never thought I'd hear THAT kind of support for AC! On women or men, or just in general? There were no glasses, no pink outfits. I mean, big swords are sexy, but I'm 100% straight so that can't work. Your father looks like vincent? Un-transformed, I hope? That sounds like a beautiful man. I LOVED AVATAR! Why do people hate on that movie? It was a glorious re-iteration of man's constant, oppressive progress, and a reflection of our past and future! =( Well, you kinda just made me doubt my system's integrity, too.
Haha, but wouldn't that be considered way too Warholian of me? Of course, different colors of some sort would be necessary, else people will cry racism! ROFL, a splendid word salad that's sure to dazzle the neurons of our high-handed, raised-eyebrow art connoisseurs! I'll make the necessary arrangements, and give you your fair share. =)
Well, I can't say I wasn't asking to feel like the completely oblivious American that I resentfully am! You're the first person outside of college who has even said "art nouveau" to me! Definitely a fan of the style, although the internet has made new Art Nouveau (redundant!) nude stuff way too popular! The colors are very striking, even stereotypically, with the lamps and all.
It seems somewhat similar to Kino's Journey, though I may have to familiarize myself with the abstract style and philosophical nature of most of that genre more. I watch older movies, and rarely have a problem with those so I would hope I'm somewhat prepared and not too hardcore ADD, haha! Plus, so many colors, TASTE THE RAINBOW! Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo had a very, as you put it, experimental art style, too; I really, really fanboyed for it! Are you trying to sound like angry old man me? Because you got it nailed down flat, good job! =D Not all shows need to be traditional stories, or edgy, I respect that a lot, actually. I even respected LoGH educating me and talking about things, just not for 110 episodes plus movies, hehe.
I'm envious because I've actually never seen an opera. It's the curse of living in nowhere, I suppose. I have no problem with musicals, though; I've enjoyed every one I saw...except High School Musical, where fruity boys twirl and go "oooooh" to make girls coo!
It's cool, I just plain love talking people to death, about anything. Please, you're TOO well spoken, if anything! =P
I kind of agree with that, except for TV series it's different. Anime is concise, usually building momentum in nice bite-sized, teasing chunks. Most regular movies, though. Eh, I'd rather make fun of them. Ooops.
Um, what do you mean by (women)? I adore steampunk! Well, to be honest, I can't say I'd really like to live in an age without Internet, but as far as the style and the whole feeling of the genre goes, it's amazing~
Lol at that description. xD
I never really had any of those big blocks, I started building Lego System when I was around 3 or so... And I'm pretty much doing it ever since. ^^
Oh, nice to hear that I got you interested! ^^ Too bad about your bricks though...
Thanks! Lego clubs all around the world make such exhibitions, and there's always awesome stuff to see there.
The castle diorama is inspired by a lot of things, including LotR, but as a whole it's an original work. There were actually some other themes on that exhibition too, but I couldn't find the photos when I gave you the link. Hm, I don't really remember the Duplo elephants, I never played with Duplo. ^^'
My models were the siege tower, some houses and details in the Castle diorama, along with a number of stand alone models, unfortunately not pictured in the album. Actually there's a bit part of the exhibition missing.
Ah, nothing to forgive, but... I dunno how you came up with that link, but that profile is not mine. ^^' It's from a friend of mine from the club, older and honestly waaay ahead of me when it comes to building Lego. My MOC profile is linked here on my MAL profile, and as I've said it's very poor cause I'm too lazy to upload my creations most of the time. So there's just a couple of things on it, and everything else is laying around my room.
Ah, football! I don't really watch that stuff to be honest... ^^'
Oh, great! I'm not really that much into fanservice, but when every other scene is filled with fog or blinding while light, it somehow stops making sense, really.
I'll start on it soon then. :D
Yup, Lego... I have to update my MOC page, I made a ton of new stuff. xD
And I'm not that good either, at least not compared to some people I know... I'm actually a member of a Lego Fan Club, and we have big Lego exhibitions every few months or so. :D This is how it looks like.
Thanks a lot for your comment on Lupin! :D
I'll watch it as soon as I catch some time... By the way, is there any censure in the airing episodes? Because if there is, then I could just wait for the DVD a bit... ^^'
I figured the previous About Me gave off the impression I bash entertainment for the fun of it? I totally don't...nope. You caught me, okay, lol.
Oh, definitely, I could infer that from your favorites! You've seen Mushishi (I like mushy things!) and Mononoke, which both sound extremely abstract and poetic to me and I need to get around to them this summer. You probably won't be disappointed in the politics, I certainly wasn't, just in most other aspects.
You flatter me, if anything I probably judged it too harshly! It's a difficult show, but I can see why people fancy it, if not just to see pretty boy Reinhard grow out those golden locks!
Yeah, it used to be a picture of me, but then I figured an angry LoGHer would want to hunt me down with a battle axe. =D Wow, your dissection of the image is lovely! Clearly, it belongs in a museum! What can I say, I need to make the legal tender somehow; what better way than exciting and seducing anime fans? The repression and guilt inside me tells me to look away, but my scientific side admires how the pinkness is decidedly off center! Speaking of avatars, what is yours, anyway, haha?
No, thank you for reading it! There's much better out there, and I'm sure you've seen better, though I've yet to look at your list. I'm just bitter at myself for having wasted 65 episodes time, haha, I can't lie.

And yes, the corsets... *nosebleeds*
Add away!
