The name is Asectic, and I am simply another person who is an avid fan of manga & anime! Though I don't know if there would be anything interesting to look here in terms of my page but regardless thanks for visiting!
A short bio about myself? Let's see...
- Currently a university undergrad student studying Computer Science
- Always liked to code & edit images when it comes to personalizing my own stuff; much like MAL here
- I played music & therefore playing influenced my tastes. If a song isn't as good as a song from Two Steps From Hell, FT Island, and ThePianoGuys, then it's not worth my time.
But that's about it! If you're one who doesn't like to read a lot of blurbs on pretty much anywhere... well, here are some hopefully short sections for the duration of the profile! :D
|| Anime and Manga Interests ||
Looking for stories which never dull in in interest in terms of plot, and/or characters undergoing ample development. If I feel or know that a story is good, it is when I constantly think of the story and make my own little developments in which I want to see happening - even when the episodes or chapters are still updating.
Currently into reading webtoons and Chinese colored-manhuas. It just shows that I have read and/or dropped all the most interesting stuff I have in the manga area ... so yeah.
|| Top Favorites (All Categories) ||
- Gundam Seed [anime]
- One Piece [manga]
- Black Haze [webtoon]
|| A More-Detailed Favorites List (All-Time) ||
Will update this as time goes by, and preferences bound to change!
Webtoons:
- Tower of God (hardly any problems with story in weekly updates)
- Kubera (very elaborate & unique world building and characters)
- Black Haze (insanity during school arcs, but story is getting boring afterwards)
- Santa (slice-of-life with very cute characters <3)
Manga:
- One Piece
- Shougeki no Souma
- Shinobi Life
- Beelzebub
- Akagami no Shirayukihime
- Shiwase Kissa Sanchoume
- Beauty Pop
|| List Notes ||
:: I never or will hardly update my manga list, since this site seems to have problems understanding that webtoons are a form of digital comics. With some sites having customers pay for the few recent chapters. And I like to have consistency with my lists to date, so yeah.
“Kids who have never known peace have different values from those who’ve never know war.
Those who stand at the top can decide the definition of “evil”.
This place is the turning point.
Justice will triumph you say?
Of course it will!
Because the winners will become justice!”
- Donqioxote Doflamingo, One Piece
"Possibly, we humans can exist without actually having to fight.
But many of us have chosen to fight.
For what reason? To protect something?
Protect what?! Ourselves? The future?
If we kill people to protect ourselves and the future, then what sort of future is it, and what will we have become?
There is no future for those who died.
... And what of those who did the killing?
Is happiness to be found in a future that is grasped with bloodstained hands? ... Is that the truth?"
- Lacus Clyne, Episode 49 Dubbed
Haha, glad you share the sentiment ^^ Mailing you in a hurry since I'll be off for a while, since it's holiday season in my country.
>Black Haze
Ikr? I'm just even more loving the fact that even though he somehow got the powers of the king, his personality is still intact. There's no doubt about it imo, especially after how he tried to contact Kiel via his note. And I'm really hoping that his physical capabilities is his natural effort, and not a buff due to the demon lord. That just makes him more amazing. I prefer for an MC to be powerful by their own attempt and not because they were a chosen one. And if it's like that, then there should be other characters, like it's in Kubera, where there are even more stronger guys and just being the chosen one isn't enough.
That reaction part is just the thing we need in those serious times :'D And not forget to mention Linus. That guy is like the most glorious of them all, already tagged with the title of a religious fanatic ;D In the latest arc, I was going like "Where are you Linus?" and then he comes back with a bang xD All the old chapters with Kiel are just too much. One moment you are convulsively laughing because of the way it is, and the same moment you feel guilty because that's how much pure his emotions are.
As for the gag moment, same here! Or more specifically, when Rood said "Chevel-sunbae told me to do it!" cracks me up everytime, like I'm laughing again while typing this xD That one sentence holds so many irony that I can't even begin xD There are lots, second being the scene where Linus meets Blow for the first time! Dear Lord, I don't know how many times I've re-read it but I never get enough of it. I even try to enact the ring scene with my sis, the part where he gives his hand, as if he was a princess, when Blow asked them to give their magic items xD
I'm not too sure about Shic actually. I mean he still stuck around even when he couldn't change ;D And then just came running back when he saw that Blow was alive and kicking. I like that part about him the most, so much adorably loyal :3 And then there's Tessi, she just handed over Dio just because she thought that the Princess was lonely xD I mean, how did she even knew that he would be there?! And then she was waiting there as if she got an oracle that he would be there xD The way she stuck around Rood was just too good ;D
As for the forums, nope. I don't think I'll do that either. The fangirls sicken me. No offense intended if you like the shounen ai/yaoi genre, but the usual fandom is just sickening. A great bonding b/w two guys get stained by gay tags just because the fangirls are just running too much wild, not that I'm against that or anything. Hmm... how do I put it? I just find the concept of shipping two brotherly guys annoying. I usually prefer to not read comments at sites like kissmanga, but recently I did that by accident. The page was filled with vulgar fangirl comments. That just ruins the mood altogether. Therefore I'm sticking to reading the manga as soon as the chapter is released so that I don't have to see any of that, which luckily isn't much at mangacow. I'm once again apologizing if you found any of that harsh or offensive. I really respect all the genres and their fans, infact I have a couple of friends who are into that genre. So yeah, I know that not all shounen ai/yaoi fangirls are like that.
[Fantasy]
Yup. I love it when the details go as deep as the working of time to the naming of days. I've just acquired a bad habit of comparing all the fantasies to Kubera and ToG to see if they are any good ;D
[Novel]
Ayup. The story is a fusion of fantasy and sci-fi of sorts. It's basically over the progression of humanity if there had been magic in this world and humans also worked on the development of technology. War times, political strives, conspiracies and the such adorn the story. We just recently worked on the map of the world and then had to stop since my partner was overworking herself to sleep deprivation due to university work. I'll let you know when we post our first chapter on Wattpad, which I doubt is going to happen anytime soon though. As novice writers without any proper guideline or routine, we are just all over the series ;D We don't even have a proper manuscript -.-
RWBY sounds great! I'll check out the link later.Animation is not really a problem with me, as long as it's not rotoscoping. I still haven't tried the likes of Aku no Hana just because of that.
[Avabel] My sister says that for the guild to have a guild room, they need to be at lvl 3 so she's not sure about, but it actually sounds amazing. We could then actually co-ordinate from the game and not whatsapp since the chat sometimes is not working properly. It actually took us 15 minutes before we could assemble in the same room and then go for farming or pvp. Nope, there wasn't anything as 30% when I played it. Though there was once when I was getting double of every drop. Due to my phone's overheating, I usually visited an empty channel due to which I was usually alone in a room, which just further made the game boring. Without friends or a party, it's just like doing the same thing over a hundred times which hardly amounted to any significant change in the further floors.
Sorry for the terribly late reply ^^; My classes and the subsequent home work tend to take the most of my time so the replies tend to be a wee bit more tardy than I could hope for ^_^;
My first encounter with Haze was thanks to MangaFox facebook updates. I think the panel I saw was of chapter 50-ish, so the art was pretty and the part was probably funny so I picked it up. And then the unexpected happened. I couldn't stop myself from going forward. That sensation of knowing what happens next was beyond anything I had ever encountered. And now, it's like a love-run away relationship? I love it with all my heart but I freak out before, during and after reading it? xD The second last, chapter 132 update left me breathless, honestly. The cliffhangers are way too much ~.~
I agree on the unsophisticated plot. But I feel that I don't need to concern myself with it too much since it'll come around sooner or later. I mean the way Kielnode was linked to Rood, even though it's so simple, when you go back and begin re-reading the chapters you realize how many strong emotions were thrown at us and we didn't even realize it, only casting it off like gag scenes. That Kielnode's line to Rood saying "My wish for you to go to school is deeper than the bottom of the ocean" still leaves me speechless.
Glad to find another Shic fan! Most of the people I saw in the comment box either think of him as handsome or crazy, nobody understood that stalking part of him properly. Shic is beyond normal character archtypes imo :3 Tessiana leaves me speechless, like all the chapters she appears in. I still cannot comprehend her motive for her actions in the latest update xD As for crush, it's Shic of course. I mean Rood and Blow are nice and everything but Shic is just too much adorable.
I saw KHR and I would admit I fangirled while I watched it. But I am not much of a 'nakama' fan so I prefer more of solo heroes. That's mostly restricted to Japanese stuff since there's stuff like ToG in Korean that I don't really care how many friends MC has since I am 99% sure that they'll all be fun to look at.
>I guess I love exploring the world of those settings & more particularly the powers the characters would use.
Same here. I'm actually writing a series with a couple of friends so these themes help me out a lot, even more since we are all beginners and I don't know how many times we are gonna revise our first chapter xD I'm incharge of writing the skeleton of the chapters, and all the theories of the story so the detailed a fantasy series, the more I love it.
I heard RWBY was not that good. What is it about?
I was a Magician in Avabel, my love for magic never goes away xD I was around 50-51 I think and I had hardly any crystals for getting an advanced class, let alone those orbs. However, my sister checked it out again a couple of days ago and said that the new updates made dungeon farming worthwhile. Like she got about 9 bronze statues per offline dungeon. I gave up playing the game since I had pretty much horrible drop even in offline dungeons. And I don't even want to remember the crystal dungeons, those had the most horrible drop.
Though there were other nice updates as well. Like for the floor quests, once you were done collecting that floor's quest items, an option would pop up for directly going to the quest npc. There's a similar option for going to higher floors for the item collection quest. They also included warning for selling rare items like weird copper coins. And most importantly, they added another npc in the quest room for selling items. I wish those were there when I was still playing. Even though farming was boring, what made the process even more tedious was the unnecessary time and money spent for going to buy potions from the main base, then spending money to go on higher floors just to get the items.
Your profile picture probably says it all, but whose your most favourite in Black Haze?~ Oh, and what about ToG, Kubera and Untouchable? If Black Haze and ToG was listed in MAL directory, my favourite character list would then have been filled with webtoon characters.
And thanks for the request ^^ It's a pleasure to be your acquaintance ^^
I understand what you say! For me, Black Haze opened the doors of the webtoon world for me so it's special to me in way too many ways. Everything about is dynamic and vibrant, especially the plot and the art! And this series is one of those rare ones which hardly looses any points in re-reading.
Your ratings were great as well! I hardly find people who have read webtoons, let alone the same webtoons as me and share similar opinion. It's just a shame that webtoons are even mistaken as manga by many even though there are stark differences.
I love parallel world and blending of supernatural elements in normal world set ups. I find them the most creative and interesting. Both of them require equal amounts of hard work to cover up the loops and then make them look realistic from their point of views. If I had to say a particular favourite, Kubera. Everything is so wrong but nothing can be helped, and it's so well built that there are hardly any loop holes. If there's anything wrong, that would be the art where it seems like there's one base face and all the characters are a combination of different colours, hairstyles and expressions.
Oh, I see. When I began playing it, advanced classes have already been introduced and by the time I left, there were two new advanced classes, probably for the Wonderer class. Had to leave the game since studies became hectic and those advanced class jewels were not appearing no matter how many times I would go into dungeons for farming. In fact everything except for those jewels would get farmed. Probably going to resume playing, someday, hopefully.
Hi there. Just wanted to drop by and say hello to a Black Haze fan. I hardly come across them at places other than the FB group and MC comment section, so yeah, I hope you forgive me for getting excited and then bothering you for a silly reason ^^
I agree with your opinion towards the treatment webtoons receive here.
And if you don't mind me asking, have you played the mobile mmorpg called Avabel?
