lol, you might even be like, "Who is Ryu again?" at this point, and the last comment about him in your comments was way back in December of last year, but Yiggit's note of his stats (hidden under "show hussy-stat") should flesh out the fakery more, along with the inclusion of VNDB.
I'm finally back on MAL after a couple of months lol (had a hand injury that's thankfully healed), hope you've been good as well. I realized I never updated, but I finished rereading bleach earlier and man I realized how much of the series I forgot and overlooked from my younger years lol. I really appreciated the help, since I've recently been trying to reintroduce/introduce myself to a lot of older anime/manga (early 90's/2000's) that I've forgotten about - next on my list is ghost in the shell and d gray man :). Overall, while reading I noticed a huge wave of nostalgia coupled with rich lore/themes, superlative worldbuilding, wonderful artistry/ characters, and extremely compelling narratives (philosophical, psychological...you name it lol). Kubo outdid himself as usual and I will continue to bump Shiro's amazing score from the 2005 anime. BTW has also caught my attention with its writing/visuals, more specifically #0.8 and I can't wait to see Kubo's future direction for the series. Your review on the TYBW cour was splendid, but what caught my eye was the occultist influences from Nazism and how they played into the characterization of the Sternritter. This may seem out of place on MAL but consider giving Hellboy by Mike Mignola a read. It deals heavily with a similar topic and the art is quite wonderful/unique as well.
Also played Nier Automata (currently on A2/9S playthrough)*, and all I can say is what an amazing game. The music, the visuals, and the concepts played upon in the game (i.e. consciousness, essence of self, death, life, seeking meaning, humanity (exploring what makes us human or in the case of other sentients their purpose) etc. - everything else you've touched upon) are such a sight to behold. I got chills against the opera robot (Simone) and the revelation of her story was devastating. I love the symbolism of the blindfolds and veils for the operators and YorHa units; alluding to the units being blind/averting their eyes to the truth and the operators inability to speak truthfully - speak no evil, see no evil. The game is rather macabre, even down to the android clothing - black (almost like funeral attire), somewhat Victorian in fashion, with the world just overall being rather gothic in aesthetic/architecture. As a result its even more charming lol, I'm looking forward to playing more of the older games (though I've heard mixed reviews for replicant). I've also been dabbling in Persona 3 reload, though it kind of sucks that we missed out on the FeMC and this absolute banger:

Ryu also purged all the comments where they were arguing from that chat log with SH sometime after you guys brought it up. XD
