Ohh, my friend has watched 2 of those (Weightlifting and Moon Lovers) and was really invested to the 2nd one haha. I have only watched Coffee Prince from those, so I'll keep them in mind when I will need to get some k-drama fix :D Thanks!
I think I'm weird with cliches, because I love romance, but I keep falling into the same trap of "some cliches are cute and every romance story has its own cliches", but they tire me way too fast when they repeat themselves all the time. For example, I love a premise such as "Itazura no Kiss" which was also remade into k-drama "Playful Kiss", but after a couple of episodes, I just wanted to kill them all, haha. It may not be a good example though, because Itazura sucks in every form too, but yeah, same trap all the time! So I get really happy when something keeps a good balance on things. Then again, my guilty pleasure was "You're Beautiful", so what is balance? :'D
But either way, I consider myself to be a newbe still in k/j-dramas cause I watch something once in a blue moon, so my view of dramas is not a completed one!
Nothing currently, no. I go through phases haha. I watched a few series in a month or so and then moved to something else and then again something else. I'll come back to it eventually. I think it scares me that I might stumble on something that might start nice, but will use the same boring cliches everyone uses, because I love romance, but if it starts dragging on... I'm using mydramalist to keep track of what I watch, but I find most reviews to be... very hyped, I suppose. I haven't read a ton, but it's usually a shallow "everything is great" and can't gauge exact expectations from something.
On another note though, I watched Sherlock Holmes' j-drama which was an interesting take on the BBC version! That was fun to watch :D
Ohhh, thank you! :D This is the 2nd comment I got about it, which means I should tell the friend whom I stole it from, haha.
And yes!! It might have been a cliche more or less, but it was a cliche well done without an inexorably stupid female character and with a likable main guy. I really enjoyed the kdrama to the end, which is pretty rare as most tend to drop the ball :D
