Hey, I'm sorry for the super late reply! I just moved and had to hunt for a new job over the last month, so I've not been on MAL much. lol. Doing better now, getting settled in.
Honestly, I grew up on a steady diet of trashy popcorn entertainment as well. I think most of us did. It's great though that you're now analyzing the media you consume with less focus on just the plot and more focus on theme and what the work of media is trying to accomplish. I've gone back and rewatched a lot of stuff that I couldn't stand when I was younger and found it's a completely different experience watching them as an older viewer. Lain is definitely one I'd check out again when you have time.
It was a long, big struggle for me with psychological & anxiety issues that kept me away.......bit tired to explain all that. But currently I'm a lot recovered from all that, though still not 100%.
IDK whether I'd ever come back here fully....though I just felt like logging in here after an year. Not currently updated on anything anime related and I'm not even sure I'm going back to those stuff ever again.
Doesn't hurt to occasionally make a post in the FG threads pared on my previous knowledge though. :)
Ah it was a few years ago iirc, and there was only one listing. Even then, it was only 4 of her albums, but still very good (ironically none of them are the one in my banner lol).
Oh that makes sense why she doesn't like it. It's unfortunate, but once you're on your own it won't matter.
I thought she was pretty popular too, but yeah mainstream Japanese music is way bigger in comparison. I have not heard of Mafumafu, but I'll definitely check it out, thanks!
Oh yeah her voice is quite impressive. It's so cute I love it lol.
You may be able to find some on ebay. It's strange her music isn't sold in the West considering how popular she is. I mean, it is, just not physical albums.
Aw that's too bad your parents don't approve of Nanahira. Japanese culture really is something special. At least it seems like you'll be free of them soon lol. Some Japanese music is hard to get. I bought a few Jrock albums from Discogs lately and it was quite expensive. I hear Yahoo auctions tends to have some good stuff but I've never used it. The Nanahira albums I got were on ebay.
Sorry for the late reply, I'm not on here much lol. I do! She's one of my favorite Japanese artists. I even have a few of her albums signed by her. They're my prized possessions lol. I'm guessing you're a fan as well?

why do you do this to yourself
Do what?
Also NGE isn't old at all - I count "old" anime to be pre-1980
Bro why are you watching those old shit
Read 6 chapters of Ruri and decided to read/watch Yuri instead
I've been an avid reader of Ruri since it's release... so like about a month ago lol
