It's a great series that has a few pretty rough points that detract quite a bit from it. The biggest is the obvious character derailment in Cal's character, and her and Reji just having some pretty ridiculous plot-induced stupidity forced on them just for the sake of creating a conflict. It wasn't handled well at all and completely contradicted their previously-established characterization.
The second act's quality overshadows the rest of the show pretty significantly. The start was kind of rough, but once it got going, it was great. And then it got rough again at the end.
Another thing that would've made it better is if they showed how McGuire came to lead such a powerful organization and what's so great about him that makes him such a mastermind. (Show him pulling some strings and stuff.) He's just kind of a shadow for the duration of the show.
It was still a really emotional ride with some pretty great psychology thrown in. If those writing flaws were fixed, and maybe the gun fights were choreographed better, it would've been 9-worthy. As it stands, it's in some strange purgatory between 7 and 8. I should probably bump it down to 7 (from an objective stance), but I'm a little too attached to it to make that change.
