Hey Guys!!! I love Anime,Manga,Music & Drawing!! I like doing AMVs & MMVs. One of my dreams is to become a voice actor or a director. Another one of dreams is to meet Todd Haberkorn & Vic Mignona. Mostly because they're my most FAVORITE VOICE ACTORS!!! I hope you guys like this :P
One additional recommendation...when you watch The Promised Place, stay for the credits. The ending song is a treasure. Kimi no Koe is one of my favorite anime songs. It's in the listing on my profile page..It links to a Youtube file of Kimi no Koe (Your Voice).
Hoshi no Koe was Shinkai-san's first widely viewed title. He did the entire work on a laptop computer. He voiced the MC and his then girlfriend, now wife, voiced the FC. Only Tenmon contributed something in that work, the soundtrack....most of it anyway. Tenmon went on to do the tracks for Places and 5cm/sec. His piano work is excellent.

I bought my copy from an anime rental store that had the only copy in town. I made the clerk call the owner to get him to sell it to me. I had not seen any of it, not even trailers. I just had a "gut feeling" about it. That "gut feeling" resulted in getting my all-time #1 anime movie. Hoshi no Koe is also in my Top 10 movie list.
Welcome the the world of Makoto Shinkai. I read your review of 5cm/sec and it pretty well sums up this work. You might watch Beyond the Clouds, The Promised Place. That has been my favorite movie since it's US release over 7 years ago. His other fine work is Hoshi no Koe, a short but beautiful work.
