This is why I score based off how much I enjoyed the show, and not how objectively good or bad I think the show actually is.
Three disclaimers:
- My favorites list is ranked from left to right in order of most to least favorite.
- I give a decimal score for each anime I watch in the "tags" section of myanimelist. I could be wrong but I think you can only see the "tags" section on computer. So if you view myanimelist on pc you are able to see the decimal scores next to all my scores.
- Any recap automatically gets one point less than the original, however, if the recap is done well enough that it enhances the viewing experience by adding new content or increasing animation quality compared to the original enough, it can earn decimal points to score closer to the original anime.
My Scores:
10/10 - A Masterpiece. Something that resonates with you on a deep and emotional level. A unique and memorable experience that will stick with you for a very long time, one that can't be compared to anything else.
9/10 - A 9 is something special, an experience unlike any other. When you watch a 9/10, you know it.
8/10 - You're more than just interested, you're invested. So you care about what happens to the world and the characters in it. A very enjoyable experience. and something I can easily see myself rewatching in the future.
7/10 - Enjoyable. It no longer feels like a chore to watch. I am interested, not necessarily invested. I wouldn't mind rewatching, but I probably won't just because there are shows I enjoy more. A 7/10 may have its problems, but overall I enjoyed my time with the show, and that's good enough for me.
6/10 - Has some redeeming qualities, but overall is nothing more than being just ok. A 6 tends to feel like a chore to watch. A waste of potential.
5/10 - A waste of time.
4/10 - A waste of electricity.
3/10 - A problem.
2/10 - A mistake.
1/10 - Atrocious. Hopefully I never watch a 1 because I don't want to know what a 1 looks like, it's that bad. A 1 out of 10 isn't just a bad show, it's a special type of bad show. It's a disaster, a train wreck, a catastrophe. A show that has absolutely ZERO redeeming qualities. If a show has even one decent quality about it, it simply is not a 1/10. In it's own way a 1/10 is a masterpiece. A masterpiece of disappointment. And like all masterpieces you should give out very few of these because this is a very special rating.
Edit: I can't believe it. I just finished Love Hina and it was glorious. The absolute worst show I have ever seen. I mean this in the most genuine way possible, I think my lifespan's been shortened by at least 5 years. 24 episodes that felt like a lifetime. I didn't think I would ever be able to find the one. No other show has made me feel this way. A true one of a kind one out of ten masterpiece. Thank you Love Hina, I could cry because now that the show is over I never have to think of you again but it will no doubt haunt my nightmares. This being said the OVAs were actually somehow good. The show defies reality, it can't exist. And the cherry on top, no one will ever read this far I'm sure, so no one will know that this show made me lose my mind. Love Hina, my first and only 1/10.
You're welcome. So far I'm more interested in the sequel for MegaloBox but the first season does have a cool artstyle & soundtrack. I'm looking forward to seeing Lupin Part 6 & JoJo Part 6 when they come out. I've been editing a new video although it's mainly anime news but it's something to behold & get me back in the rhythm.
Hey, I accepted your friend request. I haven't been using my MAL for a long time since the amount of anime I watch per year has decreased. I was recommended Captain Future which totally has that retro vibe. I also decided to rewatch Silver Fang from the beginning since I haven't finished it since I started it years ago. I need to continue watching MegaloBox2 Nomad but now I'm watching that with my Dad so my progress rate will be slow. I haven't done much reviews on MAL for a while. I think the last one was Infini-T Force. I need get back into the swing of things but my job has been occupying my free time along with stuff around the house. Thank you for messaging me.
