True that, s2 has been so good!!

A Vocaloid anime would be great, give me more Miku haha :P

ooo nice to meet an old kpop fan!! I have been a fan since mid 2010-2011 & stopped listening for few years only to get back so we seem to be quite similar but finally someone who blames Red Velvet rather than BTS :P
Who's your bias in RV btw? Mine is Seulgi, she's just cool!

For Solo artists, I'm a huge Taeyeon fan! I love Sunmi, Chungha & Heize too!
Groups I like BP, RV, Apink, Ikon, EXO, Shinee & Mamamoo!
Not the biggest fan, but GFRIEND has some songs that I also like.

What about you? Also I'm rly sorry for the late reply, have been quite busy!

Ya it's such a great show & Reigen is just love.
I see that you're a fan of K-pop & Vocaloid, always nice to meet a fan!

I'm pretty chill with whatever is thrown my way as well. The humor wasn't so much offensive to me as it just kind of ruined my immersion with the show when I was trying to really appreciate how cute it could be at times. Did that really happen to the author? You know it's sad that I wasn't even phased when reading that because it happens too often. The most recent one being episode 14 of Darling in the FranXX

Agreed about Sousuke but he was more of a minor piece in the story for me, as much as I love him, he came in a bit later so I was more invested in Rin x Haru. Sousuke has gotten a few flashes of his character in S3 so I hope they do something more with him.

Yeah the final match of S1 surprised me way back in 2016 when I started it. This was when I was easing my way back into anime so I hadn't seen much for awhile so I avoided spoilers n such. But it's been so long now I would love to see the team lose again now that they've gone pretty far for themselves or else the story is going to get really stale IMO. I'm not sure how long Furudate plans to write the series but a sort of Hinata and Kageyama thing going into second years would totally work. The third years would be missed. There's another series that followed a similar formula with losing early on then just plot armoring its way till the end so I dont want Haikyuu to follow that. I wont say the name since its not on your list :)

Whenever I'm not lazy I'll update my pictures and characters and all those grids... school right around the corner though so I'm probably going to have more motivation issues finding time to do it. Doremi completely passed me as a kid, so did some other shows like Sailor Moon which I want to get around to watching eventually. I actually never heard of Doremi until last year honestly, I dont know how. Well don't mind me just a 25 year old casually watching this show and liking it :). Just finished Motto! So all I have left is Na-i-sho and the final season
Remix Jul 24, 2018 7:50 AM
Aw well then it's settled! Whenever this site decides to work, sometime in this decade preferably.

I guess it just comes down to taste in comedy, which is extremely subjective (obviously) but hearing you say they have less focus is enough to get me more motivated to read.

I have High Speed downloaded so I'll watch that here soon. I guess I can settle for a lower quality version of the other movies but I guess it depends how much lower in quality. I'm picky with these it these days since I download everything I watch. Honestly, Season 3 of Free hasn't really impressed me and that's mostly because the new character feels like a discount Rin and I hope the show takes a new direction. Also the fact that S2 ended quite nicely :3 but I'm cautiously optimistic for now.

That's why Joe is my favorite sports anime/manga ever now, but it's more about the psyche of Joe as an individual, his journey through life and how he deals with his struggles through boxing so it's not really lighthearted and "HYPEEEE" as you'd expect from a lot of the modern ones. More down to earth and gritty in its presentation and themes. Not that those aspects alone make it better, but it was truly a unique experience for me. I like stuff like Haikyuu and Ippo for much different reasons and they have their strengths. I didn't mind Shiratorizawa too much since it fits the whole theme of Karasuno being really unpredictable as a team, but the charm of that is starting to wear off a bit for me in the manga. Not trying to turn of my favorite series, but I say this stuff because I care for the future of it. I see you dropped it before the current stuff happening right now, but to put it blunt I want Karasuno to lose somewhere in the Nationals. Not only to break the formula but because it can shift to a second year stance, the third years all got their dream of attending nationals etc... I think it will only get worse if they have plot armor all the way down the road.

Also I can finally view your spoiler tags! I love the GIFs you have going on for the favorite males. This also made me realize you've seen Ojamajo Doremi! I'm about to finish season 3 (Motto)

No worries about the late reply. In the future, you don't need to stress about replies with me since I've been in that position before with getting back to people. I'm also starting up at Uni again next week so it's very likely I'll also be slow. On that note, I hope it's cool if I shoot you a FR whenever MAL restores that feature. I look forward to more conversations with you.

It's pretty nice so far, definitely check it out and I think you will like the MC of Kamisama quite a lot. Gakuen Babysitters was weird to me, I really enjoyed it one moment but I really hated the gags like the nosebleed guy and the dad who disguised as a kidnapper but was actually a kidnapper in the movie he starred in. Some of those gags totally ruined the immersion for me, but otherwise when it was off them it was cute. Maybe those are toned down and I'll like the manga more if I ever decide to revisit it.

Yeah definitely send then my way when you do. I didn't touch the films before S3. Main reason being is there's no good versions online for Take Your Marks and the two recap movies (both I want to watch because new footage was added). High Speed I hear is mostly a decent movie but not required. I'm just going to wait until all the movies are subbed and knock them out in one go. But yeah would definitely love to discuss the season with you so lemme know when you start it.

Ohhh they go onto college? This just bumped Ouran up my priority for a rewatch x)

I love Haikyuu!! it's one of my favorite sports anime and was one of my first shows when I got back into anime after taking such a long hiatus from it. It's probably my 3rd favorite sports show and I still love everything in the first 3 seasons. I WAS ALSO A SHIPPER OF THOSE TWO SHIPS, Kuroo x Tsuki especially with the training camp and how important Kuroo was for Tsuki's blocks and Oikawa x Iwaizumi has such great chemistry with how much he keeps Oikawa in check. I still keep up to date with the manga and I'd say the biggest problem with these kinds of stories is the shounen formula of having your team win once but then they just skyrocket their wins from that point on. Sometimes you want some kind of change in the formula, but maybe nationals right now will prove me wrong. I really miss Oikawa to be honest, his cameo in the Shiratorizawa match was so hype with his outfit and commentary but I hope the series finds some use for him again.

How far are you into Mushishi now?

Yeah it's a shame, but it's the current state of the anime market with all this crap being adapted. I'm even watching another Shoujo right now Kamisama Kiss and it's surprisingly enjoyable. Has cute white hair fox guy and youkai which I seem to like in anime being a fan of Natsume. One of my favorite romance manga Mars will never get an adaptation and it's so great too. Also started reading a bit of Love So Life and the babies reminded me of Gakuen Babysitters from a couple seasons ago. Thanks for giving PTSD about Citrus... ugh

Nah I think filler is dismissed too easily, but it the rep it garnered is a bit fair since most of it can be lower quality. Some examples of filler I do like would be the second half of OG Naruto because it felt a bit more natural with the missions being given out to the cast and traveling to different Ninja Nations. It also gave more screentime to characters I liked such as Shikamaru. It helped that back when I followed Naruto weekly I couldnt distinguish between canon and filler though lol. Bleach would be an example of one that I hated though. I started watching One Piece recently (I'm caught up on the manga) because I want to experience the anime counterpart despite the negative rep it has with the pacing later on. Just finished the first filler arc and it was surprisingly good. What I like about One Piece filler is it totally makes sense on an adventure like that on such a huge scale that a random event might occur or they might wash up to another island.

Burn the witch? I'll check it out!

Meiling doesn't speak a lot of Chinese, it's only like one line haha. Sorry to hype it up. And yeah I obviously knew it wouldn't live up to the classic that aged so well with peak cell animation and some of the best eps (more of them too) but it still left a small disappointment in me by the end. I don't mean to say I hated it, in fact it was fairly enjoyable because of my attachment to the cast and its as sweet as ever with their interactions and their shenanigans at school and lunch time with various confections. All I'll say is the plot left way more to be desired, so hopefully a second season soon.

Got any good doujins to link? For real, I'm interested. I don't read too many if I'm honest. Have you started S3 already btw? I love how Makoto already has his hand ready to assist Haru out of the pool at the start :) like every season but it's usually Haru in the bath tub.

A full remake would be nice because I do remember hating where it ended and wanting more closure back then. Just the side effect of so many unfinished adaptations :( at least from a visual standpoint, it certainly doesn't require a remake. It aged super well in that department. I've actually never touched the manga so idk what I've been missing. I will 100% read the manga whenever I go back to revisit it.

Sakura Kiss is just my teenage years obsessed with anime personified. I'll always love it :)

Yeah that's the problem with Toradora, it can be very polarizing if you're not on board with the MC and she's a hell of a one to tolerate. I guess I was lucky to not mind her character. It also helps that it took me until 2017 to watch the show (been watching anime seriously since 2006) so I heard multiple comments every year how much of a bitch Taiga was. It's safe to say my expectations probably couldn't get any lower than the show. With that said, I totally get why people feel that way especially if you don't like that particular trope. Back on the topic of ships though, I even have a few other BL ships from Haikyuu!! I really like and Taichi x Chihaya is another great one from Chihayafuru (you should watch if you havent)

Yep I wanted them to end up together so badly. Poor me didn't have the basic knowledge to know that a shounen anime meant my chances were slim and followed it for all those years.... Haru was also a super qt. I was actually pretty blown away when that episode came around where Tsuna spilled the truth.... that was rad.

Remix Jul 17, 2018 7:32 AM
Oh NICE you're currently watching Mushishi, that's awesome. It was pretty much an instant favorite for me when I started it last year, I knew I would love the rest. There's really just... nothing much like it in the medium, not just its atmosphere which deserves all the praise for that factor alone, but all of the elements of storytelling coming together to really pull you into it's world and all the subtleties that surround the existence of mushi and life. And of course its sharp exploration of human interactions through mushi. I love it, I need to rewatch xD. I read the first 8 chapters of the manga, but Ginko looks more like a teenager than an adult so it totally threw me off.

Utena and RoV both have a very feminist vibe and I would be very surprised if Utena wasn't influenced by Oscar (Both in my faves hehe). 100% agree about Shoujo/Josei, they're some of my favorite genres period and I've watched and loved so many. Granted, I've probably only watched the well received ones thus far and managed to avoid the not so great ones that exist out there. I know both genres were in my top 10 favorite genres when MAL Graph was still functioning. For Shoujo I really love Nana, Natsume and Cardcaptor like you mentioned, but unfortunately Sailor Moon passed me as a kid and I never watched it growing up. I plan to fix that and watch the first season sometime this year. Josei even had a huge hit recently with both seasons of Rakugo and I also love Chihayafuru, Nodame Cantabile, Honey and Clover, Kuragehime... so many I have to stop myself before I make a huge wall of text.

It's hard to recommend most long running shounens these days just because of the precursors that come attached to them such as lots of episodes, filler, pacing issues, unfinished etc. I still believe Bleach to be pretty recommendable if you don't mind skipping the filler and if you're like me where you've watched SO MUCH shounen in your life you kind of block out any overused tropes since you've seen them done 10000 times over. It had a bit of an unfortunate end where the main villain got one too many power ups and it had to go through one too many writing slumps to solve it. Much like Naruto Shippuuden with Obito, as much as I adore the original Naruto haha. Also you get to experience the single best OST to grace anime, just saying. I've heard the Bleach manga butchers it even more which astonishes me and it almost makes me want to read it to find out why. One thing is undeniable like you said, Kubo's art is fantastic. Some people always think he should hire a writer but continue drawing. I haven't seen his one-shot which one is that?

I would totally wife Tomoyo (ya know when she's a bit older.... don't judge) she would totally look out for you always. Mei-Ling took some warming up to but she was totally likable by the time her character arc came to a close <3 She does indeed make a quick cameo in Clear Card and even speaks some Chinese dialect which was the highlight for me. I hope you get around to that soon, it was much weaker than s1 but still enjoyable with the cast we know and love.

Hahaha no way, this is amazing. Rin is by far my favorite character because his development and he has the best moments in ES. I relate to him a lot and the Australia episode hit close to home (being an American-Australian myself who did a similar journey once upon a time). Whenever Sousuke came around in S2 I was like "you can't just introduce a smokin' hot character like this in S2 pls" and he was always hanging around Rin so I was like "uh oh". Thematically Rin x Haru makes more sense in my head and especially with how the series frames them. They're probably the ones I'd want to see as canon. So Sousuke is basically the smut ship I guess... bahaha.

OHSHC... So that was a favorite of mine back when I got into anime around 2007. Was one of my first 5 shows ever and I REALLY need to rewatch it because I remember loving Haruhi and Tamaki a lot. I also had a super soft spot for Honey and I don't remember why but I did. The idea of a prestigious school in anime really fascinated me back then as well. But yeah over a decade since my last viewing... I really need to fix that. But one thing that's certain is Sakura Kiss is one of the best OPs ever and will always be one of my favorites; nostalgia overload.
As for Toradora, I actually don't mind Taiga that much but I can definitely see how one would find her polarizing. Don't hate me ;~~;

I think I was a pretty innocent fan back then so I don't remember thinking anything in particular about romance in Shippuuden. What I will say though is I REALLY freaking wanted Tsuna and Kyouka to hook up in all those years I followed Reborn week by week. The worst part is little innocent high school me wasn't really connected with tropes and trends in anime at the time, it was all the same to me so I didn't know any better like expecting romance out of shounen. Especially scenes like in the future arc when Tsuna saves her future version I was just like REEEEEEEEEEEEE make it happen already. I was clueless back then.... :'(
