Hey there! I'm a long-time anime fan from Minnesota. Over the years I've come to enjoy all sorts of anime and love to come back here to discuss and update my page. This account is really a bit of a project for me as well a way to meet new people, so I'm open to recommendations and conversations. If you'd like to see a my most accurate, updated animanga list, check out my Anilist account @Amazinc.
Other than anime and manga, I like spending my time with video games, music, sports, sitcoms, movies, relaxing at home, and spending time with friends and family. I'm currently studying in Atlanta.
If you'd like to know how I got into anime and this forum years ago, here it is.
I didn't know what anime was as a kid, but to my surprise I watched quite a bit growing up. The first anime I remember watching are Dragon Ball Z/Kai, Sonic X, Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal, and Pokémon back in the early 2010s. The first anime I watched in its entirety was the Metal Saga of Beyblade, which will always have a special place in my heart.
Later on in middle school I met friends who watched anime and taught me what it was. I actually didn't like it for a while for no real reason and didn't realize I had watched a lot when I was younger. Eventually, though, I gave it a chance. The first anime I knowingly watched was Sword Art Online and then One Punch Man in late 2015 and early 2016.
After that, Pokémon XY/XYZ were the last anime I saw for a while. I had stuck to what was on Netflix at that point, and nothing else caught my attention. As I moved into high school, anime faded to the background as I spent my free time with other hobbies and shows.
One late 2017 summer night, it sprung back into my mind. I looked into it and started with comedies and rom-coms, Toradora and Nisekoi being two of them. A couple months later, I was introduced to My Hero Academia by a close friend. I was already beginning to get more into anime and its community by that time, and this show cemented my interest. In October of 2017 I discovered this website and made an account. I read my first manga, going back to One Punch Man, in the spring of 2019.

The overall score I give an anime or manga is similar to the criteria MAL uses: story, art/animation, characters, enjoyment, and sound. How a piece holds up with time often changes my scores too. If my enjoyment is low with an anime or manga, I may just drop it. All things considered, I try to keep the scores of entries in my list comparable.
I have come up with some base guidelines for my scores here. If you see a score on my list, it generally reflects these thoughts.
10: Amazing from start to finish. It is truly special to me, and distinct from all else.
9: A great experience that truly excelled in what it went for. One of my favorites.
8: Very enjoyable; a leap from being just good, having few faults and many strong aspects.
7: Pretty good. It had many positive qualities, but some specific weaknesses that hurt it.
6: It was entertaining, but had certain large shortcomings or was simply plain.
5: Mediocre; not extremely bad but not good. It possessed obvious problems.
4: Pretty bad, it had glaring problems and/or was hard to get through.
3: Awful. It had little going for it due to huge flaws or annoyances.
2: Dreadful. Abysmal. There are very, very few positives in its entirety.
1: Simply put, trash. There's nothing good about it feels like they didn't even try.
In edition to the rating, I keep track of my started and finished dates for all my anime and manga. For some shows I watched very early on before I made this account, the dates are simply estimates. Lastly, I like to write up a couple sentences on each anime and manga in the tags section. This usually includes more specific thoughts on the series and its strong or weak points. I try not to go too in-depth as to keep the list concise.

My favorite animanga series in my journey so far, and what I think about them. Check out my other favorites down at the bottom if you'd like. Favorite ≠ Rating/Quality!
1. Gintama (A perfectly crafted balance of hilarity and heart-wrenching intensity. Answers what and who gives life meaning.) 2. Kaguya-sama: Love is War (Specially relatable and the funniest, most fulfilling romcom I've ever seen.) 3. Haikyuu!! (One of the most influential shows in my life; I believe this is the greatest sports animanga ever.) 4. Demon Slayer (A beautiful story about family and the fight to live a normal life with some of the greatest animation of all time.) 5. Attack on Titan (A near-masterpiece in mystery fiction that has taught me so much about purpose and our humanity.)
Honorable Mentions: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Jujutsu Kaisen, Your Name, Mob Psycho 100, Saiki K, Spy x Family
Oh really? Well thanks. The only reason I added you as a friend was because I looked at your profile and saw we had similar taste. So welcome to my profile. feel free to take recommendations from it. If you want to talk about anime or manga you can always message me. Doesn't have to me anime/manga it could be about different things as well.
The review section at the bottom of an anime on this site is probably the worst place to go to get a reasonable opinion on a show. Just look at the score, ask a couple friends, and give it a try. Ignore over-analytical big-worded messes of reviews that take things way too seriously.
I never realized how much Gintama has taught me about life until now. About what is worth protecting, the types of people you'll make the best memories with, and who will be there when you're at your lowest. One of the best anime ever made.
