Hello, I just finished Glasslip because I was expecting it to be similar to Nagi no Asu Kara and saw one of your forum post about comparing them. And I saw you hated Tsumugu? For the longest time since the first time I started Nagi no Asu Kara, I knew I would feel something different about him, is it hate? I think it is, but I'm not really sure.

Anyways, I think this has turned into my longest comment, because I never had the chance to discuss this with someone else who "hated" Tsumugu. So who do you ship Chisaki with? Is it Tsumugu or the same as mine? Or is it Kaname, which is a ship I like too? Because I see you have her in your favorite.

Hi! Thanks for asking. If you ever came across something with realistic character interaction (not art) that does not have a cliche story, so an interesting plot hehe. I really enjoyed Ajin: Demigod, Koe no Katachi, Yumeka Sumomo (Tetsugaku & My Girl), and Asano Inio (Hollograph?, Oyusami)

Have a little complex story or a little dark, that was balanced by the characters. Bec usually complex / dark plots have mature characters, which tends to be boring and dry for me because I like having different and interesting, fun characters (even if not all)

If you just ever cam across on something like that hehe. And oh, sorry for late response. I'm using mobile, and I can't click on links whenever I'm on my profile page, and I don't know why it does that haha

Besides the titles you have mentioned, I haven't came across much decent shounen romance. But I am reading Guarding, a manhua, which was nicely drawn and colored. It was tagged as Romance, Shounen, and Supernatural, and it was really being told in a male POV. Have few chapt though, so far 8 chapt up to date

I'll be dropping by again if ever I came across on something like that

It has rather a plain, insecure girl that was rarely shown. It was more focused on mc charact dev, with romance as sub plot hehe. I'll gladly give recommendation, but I think it would be better if you mention the things you are looking for, things that makes you enjoy and stick with that anime / manga. Or even things that you do not like would help too hehe

i think the problem is I watched it when I was too young so I couldn't really appreciate it and never bothered to rewatch it. But I will. Some day. I'm just not very big into anime, more of a manga person.

Omg I'm so sorry for the late reply :( With vacation and exams I just didn't spend almost any time at all on MAL.

Anyways I’ll try to answer your question!!

Why I like Tsumugu. Everything you said about Tsumugu is bang on and I have no objections towards it, what I will say is that unlike other people Hikari really started to irritate me even before the time skip (Please note that this is one of the few animes where I actually loved every character so don’t think I’m just bashing on Hiraki). Even during the moments with him and Manaka, Hiraki just always showed such immaturity in a lot of aspects while I felt like Chisaki was the only one that was extremely mature, always trying to keep the group from crashing despite there being all this drama with Manaka and Hikari. This is what sort of made me become less of a fan of Hikari, as having an extremely immature person pair up with a very mature person wouldn’t work out. But hey I left it to fate and the time skip pretty much sealed the deal. Not only did Chisaki basically get rejected by Hikari but after the time skip she herself started acting SO illogical with her notion of loving Hikari despite him being trapped under ice. Sure I can understand that there were feelings there but it’s been 5 years since then and Tsumugu had made it clear that he was interested. If anything we should kind of feel bad for Tsumugu because he was straight up rejected by Chisaki despite her clearly having some feelings for him and whose reasoning behind it was because she didn’t want to betray her feelings for Hiraki despite the fact that she hadn’t made a move on him and was probably never going to as they were now 5 years apart.
Chisaki and Hikari just weren’t meant to be, they were always just on different wave lengths and the time skip was just the final nail in the coffin. I can understand Chisaki’s unhappiness but to say that she should have ended up with Hikari despite all that she had done with Tsumugu during those five years just seems unfair. Don’t get me wrong Tsumugu is definitely a boring character but I can’t argue the fact that he’s a million times more mature than Hikari was, and heck at least he made a move on Chisaki which shows that HE WAS trying. He didn’t just have her magically fall into his lap, he had to work for her which is good because had it been ChisakixHikari I feel like Chisaki would have been the one with all the pressure. Basically in terms of how much I overall liked the male character it’s definitely Hikari>Tsumugu>Kaname but in terms of who’s the best pair for Chisaki I have to go with Tsumugu. He’s boring but I feel him and her make a good pair, just look at how cute their family was with Tsumugu’s grandpa :3

As for Kaname. No, absolutely not. Had Chisaki ended up with Kaname I would have given this series an 8 instead of a 10. That would be such a disappointment. Chisaki had ABSOLUTLEY no feelings for this guy and to now have them end up together would have enraged me. The guy is even more boring than Tsumugu, he literally just follows what the other guys are doing he has no input on anything he’s just a smiley face in the background trying to get with the hottest girl in the group. Had he ended up with Chisaki that would have been the biggest forced pairing of the decade. At least with Tsumugu they sort of throw you off at the beginning as it looks like it’ll be a love triangle situation with him and Manaka but Kaname just shows up and says I like you and that’s supposed to make me feel like it’s true love? No I don’t think so. I’m so glad he did not end up with Chisaki god even thinking about it gives me shivers lol.

In all honesty I really do feel like the pairings ended correctly, I just wish Muina would have found someone because I really liked her :( Think about it this way. I feel like they’ll make a good family whereas I feel like Manaka and Hikari will probably have a lot of fights and also remember how in the beginning Manaka fell for Tsumugu just by looking at him? Well it’s that sort of indecisiveness on her part that will inevitably lead to the relationships downfall that and just how immature Hikari is but that's heading into fan fic territory now so I'll stop.

All and all, I just felt Hikari didn’t deserve a waifu of that caliber. Although Tsumugu probably didn’t either, He deserved her more than Hikari did. The fact that Tsumugu actually made a move on her while Hikari even had to think about whether he liked her more than Manaka is enough for me.
