I am a big sci-fi fan who at some point ran out of great shows, so I looked back at childhood anime-stuff then began my journey in Japan's art.
First anime I've seen was Kimba the White Lion, probably. That time I thought it was just a cartoon as others, aired along the european and american produced cartoons. I never could've guessed where the later aired Inuyasha or Pokemon came from.
I started watching anime ~2010 (Naruto, Bleach, Full Metal Panic!, FMA, etc), then somehow I dropped that habit.
My turning point was when I found Space Battleship Yamato Live Action on 9gag (2014 summer), watched it, got pumped up for more details and bumm, here I am, wathcing anime constantly since years.
Some notable anime:
My fav' romance anime so far: Spice and Wolf
Fist sci-fi I anime I watched: Blue Gender
First mindfuck: Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu & Endless 8 & movie
First anime I dropped: Chaos;Head /and i won't watch even if the world's fate depends on it
The most under appreciated anime on my list: Hakaima Sadamitsu
My choice for "if I could delete from my memory and watch again": Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu (Legend of the Galactic Heroes)
Favorite Genres : Drama , sci-fi (+mecha) , and action.
But a good anime is good regardless of genre.
About my rating: I do it based on the enjoyment the anime gave me that time, so they are purely subjective. I tend to correct them if I re-watch a series.
