I know what you mean; the scenes where the gems are destroyed by Lunarians are heartbreaking and horrifying, and then you have Phos doing something funny or those cloud puppies jumping on top of Bort.
I started reading the colored version manga which has helped me a lot so far in differentiating the characters on the normal version; I have to say I love the Admirabillis arc on the anime, especially when it was shown how Ventricosus gave those spikes for Phos future legs. I read some spoilers accidentally and would like some questions if possible hahaha.

Aside from hearing some songs from the soundtrack, I don´t tend to rewatch anime I finished. Still, Re: Creators had a very interesting premise, and I loved the most how some of the characters were so similar to protagonists from other stories. I would like to see more of that premise, it was very refreshing.

I got curious about Houseki no Kuni after seeing how popular it was; best decision ever. I read your review of the manga and I really liked it. After seeing some out-of-context scenes I thought it was going to be a comedy story, and while watching the anime I realized how philosophical and complex it was, and the existentialism of some of the characters feels very real.

It is nice to see Re: Creators in your favorites; I liked the concept of characters from different anime characters clashing against one another in the real world. The soundtrack for that anime was awesome, especially opening 2, and the OST Layers.

Isso que eu ia comentar, pelo que você descreveu parece bastante com a premissa de 3-gatsu e, se esse realmente for o caso, já estou muito interessado, pois eu amei demais essa obra maravilhosa! Acho que vou dar uma olhada sim (não agora pois estou meio ocupado com o canal e a idade, mas assim que possível rs)
