In any case there's some potentially fun stuff in season 3 of Sound Euphonium
In all seriousness, season 3's been fantastic.
Although this reminds me of when that Madoka movie will finally come out.
I caught it after taking a trip down to London with my partner. It wasn't too bad for me mainly loss of taste and a slight cough. I was able to keep working from home though. My partner had it slightly worse, but she is fine now. I'm guessing you weren't quite so lucky?
If you're gonna rewatch PMMM, watch Rebellion shortly after the TV series. That's what I recently did. I think Rebellion makes more sense that way.
Holy crap! Your favorite Naruto character is Kakashi too! OK, not entirely an original opinion, but bro fist! The thing about Naruto is, yeah, I completely checked out sometime after Shippudden started, but it wasn't like a matter of, "Oh my god! This sucks now!" It was more like, "OK, this is dragging on too long. Shouldn't he be Hokage by now?" There were some scenes and characters I really liked, and some of the fight scenes were fantastic. I also used to own two Naruto games on my PS2, and they were both great. Still, I do have mixed feelings about the Naruto franchise, and while I might like it more than, say, Bleach and One Piece, it didn't connect quite like MHA currently is. OK, so I only just started the sports festival, but it hasn't let up. Still too soon for me to pick a favorite character, though if I had to, I'd risk the label of "basic bitch" and say Deku and All Might.
Do be wary I still don't post much. Still, there is an anime I'm watching. I started watching My Hero Academia. Yes, I am watching an anime "normal people" watch. Why? It's basically Naruto....if Naruto was actually good. It may be the best shounen action series I've seen since Hunter X Hunter. Not making this up.
"Homura, like Madoka and Sayaka, is one of the greatest, most nuanced fictional characters I’ve ever seen, and Rebellion would’ve been a lesser feature if it ended differently, as NOT having Homura taking on the role of a devil would’ve been out of character for her."
Now why would I, of all people, be going to bat for Homerun-chan? Simple. I love her. I LOVE HOMURA! She is delightful in the same way Beatrice the Golden Witch is delightful!
Oh yeah, I should change my score of the Madoka TV series to a 10, but that would contradict my old review of it. So I just rendered yet another old review of mine obsolete tonight. But hey, I watched Madoka Magica again! It gets better the more times you watch it! I am SO looking forward to the new movie.
I suppose pick any of the Mega Man games.
Unfortunately, about 3/4 of my "classic" reviews are now outdated. Quite a few anime I reviewed back in the day have gone down in my opinion. One has gone up sharply. (Evangelion) And Eureka Seven isn't my favorite anime anymore. Re:Zero took that spot.
Of course, don't expect me to post a lot more these days. My favorite hobby is writing now, not playing games or streaming shows. I'm only just here today because I wanted to report my thoughts on a Steins;Gate spinoff. (THAT I still love!) but since I'm here, I wanted to mention a little something. I remember us talking about how to critique things. There is something I learned since I "retired" from MAL back in 2018. This is that thing.
When you're analyzing a work of fiction, you must see past the literal. What does that mean? Don't get bogged down with details. Focus on what the author(s) is saying to the audience. What is that message? Is it relevant? This is why I love Eva now. I rewatched the whole Eva series last year, including the Rebuild movies. Unlike last time, I didn't obsess over whether Shinji's character was consistent or whether or not the worldbuilding made sense during The End of Eva. I focused on what Anno-san and company were telling us. The Angels, the catchy music, the symbolic imagery, it's just window dressing. It's really a portrait of people suffering from psychological drama disguised as a giant robot anime. You see it like that, Eva makes a lot more sense.
On the other hand, some things completely fall apart if you look past its literal details. If you apply this technique to, say, the Fast and Furious movies, you will find....nothing! By the way, if you want to see other writings of mine, including more recent reviews for other stuff, just say the word. I got URLs.
I'm not sure about the whole time travel tactic. Seems kinda sketchy.
