If you're already familiar with Key/Visual Art's, it starts with their kinda cliché setting, the classic arrangement of "boy meets girl" BUT from eps 12-or-something till ~After Story~ it's damn... -can't give spoilers- ...UNIQUE! xD

Hmm well my favourite slice of life shows are Welcome to the NHK and Hyouka. I think Hyouka might be more similar to what you've listed though, and it really is a beautiful show. NHK sort of doubles up as a slice of life and a psychological show!
In terms of psychological stuff, Evangelion, Infinite Ryvius and Monster are some of my favourites as well.
I haven't actually seen Devil May Cry and I've been looking for something similar to Cromartie, but I think it's unique.
Well I'm pretty open to most genres as well. If you're looking for stuff, you can always use my list as reference as well!
