About my page:
As for anime I'll watch any show from GiTS to YuruYuri. Each season I try to pick up most shows, but drop many of them on the first few episodes. My ratings are based on enjoyment, not on some sudo-objective critical look at things. Anime quality is subjective any way you look at it. If you break it down into A, B, C... parameters, the judgement of what the value for the parameter is, is in itself subjective.
I tend to edit my list so that it accurately reflects my opinion of the show in the current moment. For example, the first time I saw Paranoia Agent my reaction to it wasn't very good. However after re-watching it over a year later, I saw things in it I didn't the first time. I also like to rate shows on a scale separated by genre. Different genre's provide different things, i.e. you cannot possibly compare the comedic merit of K-ON to that of Planetes.
Also, I tend to not give out scores below 3, because I would not have watched the show if this were the case, and I don't rate every dropped shows unless I think it's bad enough that I'm unwilling to ever pick it up again
About me:
Senjougahara-sama is idol-ru. I like to hang out in my favorite shows' general threads, music threads, and some meta threads with trip, but I'm lurking and posting as anon most of the time. I like to play piano and guitar. I play and listen to a lot of anime music as well. Currently my biggest hobbies besides anime right now are Planetside 2 Beta, and arguing in ̶G̶u̶i̶l̶t̶y̶ ̶C̶r̶o̶w̶n̶ Sword Art Online threads. I'm a cs-fag, and I write python scripts for anon. Next year, I'm going to transition to java script and start making extensions. If you want know about the projects, or have requests/ideas, feel free to PM me. Remember when I said I play piano and guitar? Well I'm going to work my way through a few soundtracks, transcribing songs that feature piano and guitar heavily.

My friend was just there for when they had food. Thank god I did not join this club, plus, I already knew what other clubs gave food in every meeting.
So yeah, you could say I'm musically involved.
Don't worry too much about it and just go with whatever is most comfortable. Using a five as baseline average is a nice starting point though. It's a shame there's no 0 rating on MAL since average is actually a 5.5 this way.
I don't in any circumstance rate an anime higher or lower than I feel it deserves just so it can fit on my distribution better, but I do try to keep my higher ratings low in number to highlight those that I feel are outstanding or exemplary in some way. A strict rating scale also keeps things fairly low too, since a five for me represents a title that is completely average, while a six would represent something that's decent, etc.
Though to be fair, a large amount of the shitty ratings come from seasonal stuff. Picking up a lot each season usually leads to experiencing a lot of mediocre and bad anime. Ratings usually change over time too though so you'll probably find yourself lowering scores as the months go by and you finish more titles.
Fun fact: The day the last episode came out someone made a thread posting a screenshot of the last episode on /sp/ and just flat out spoiling it on the OP, so I know what getting shit spoiled for this show feels like.
But yeah, I can see you're a classy gentleman such as myself, which definitely deserves a friend request.
