Yeah the constant revision is a problem. Sometimes I think the best way to write a story must be to just get blackout drunk and start dumping text to page like Stephen King did in the 80's or whatever. You don't have to deal with that psychological niggle. Probably the most prominent example of this problem I've seen is in Kingdom Hearts. It's been a long time since I've played those games but I distinctly remember Nomura has a big problem with narrative through hindsight. He loves taking old themes and motifs and applying new meanings to them as the series progresses. I suppose a lot of writers do it to make their improvisation and deus ex machina feel less like bullshit but once you start to take notice it's very glaring.
I have a similar sentiment towards Lynch. He reminds me of Quentin Tarantino in a weird way. It's as if both those guys, at some in their careers, suddenly decided: "okay, they liked that, now lets see how fucking insane I can get and still be praised for it." That's kind of disrespectful and probably not even remotely true but it still makes me laugh.
I've decided that being an actor must be a lonely life. You must develop so much emotion and feeling for people even though you don't necessarily know them deeply...
It's strange.. you have these people you think you love, but it's really easy to move on and forget about them because while the ties are deep in some ways they are incredibly shallow in others.
Any ideas what you want to do when you're finished with school?
Tbh I just suddenly realized "oh shit it's Canada mans birthday, better send him a message otherwise he'll freeze to death in his igloo."
Nahhhh just kidding I know that's a stereotype and not how Canada works even remotely lmao that's kind of disrespectful, please forgive me though, rural Australia is pretty much 40°C all day and sometimes most of the night and sometimes I masturbate to the idea of living in a place that doesn't feature fan forced oven heating.
I'm somehow glad that you like to draw. My sister is an artist and she is way better at drawing than me so fuck her. That's probably pretty petty and sort of morbid.
I've spent a lot of time writing the past year. I'm quite happy with it. I tried to songwrite in the past but it was nothing special but I'm really happy with where my creative writing is going. I'd like to write a shitty novel.
I'll admit I probably dropped Super a little early. I dumped it as a witness of the "many faces of pudding addiction" Beerus and that animated tour de force on King Kai's planet? I think it was, anyway. There was a lot of salt after those episodes aired I think. It was very early on in the show and people were buttblasted.
FMA is a solid story. I guess it doesn't really matter when you watch it, it's sort of a "in the moment" show.
I've watched a little Stargate but not Star Trek, I think it might be thematically different. Should I start with TNG?
I'm reading some of your past comments and you seem fond of David Lynch. My dad always pressured me to watch Eraserhead but I never have. Is it worth the time to find a copy? What should I expect?
I see you're braving Dragon Ball Super. I'm trying to work up the courage to pick it up again.
Fool me once, Toei.
Did you ever finish FMA? I've still made no progress on LOTGH and it's been more than a year since we spoke lmao. Watched anything Western lately? Trying to find some good shows or even movies I suppose.
Yeah I don't think Lynch and McLaughlin would go back to it unless they thought what they had was good, even if its not what the audience were waiting for. It really is, I remember loving Blue Velvet but I couldn't get through the first 20 mins of Eraserhead.
Yeah I never finished season 2 or I must have forgotten most of it, there were some interesting visuals but plot wise it got a bit convoluted I think.
The revival will be hit or miss, just hope its not like the new X-files series which has been panned. I don't suppose a trailer has been released has it?
I used to watch it on dvd as a kid, it was one of the well more memorable things among all the other stuff.
David Lynch knew how to make a damn good show.
Back! My internet was out because of bills and stuff. I'm a poor bitch. ;_;
So.....the game tried to make you think one thing...only to have it proven false but then...why so much combat? It would've been better if the character told us he was a solider, then had his entire story focus on avoiding combat. At least then we'd be like "Ohh, that's why he didn't fight that good/so much". Bleh. That's why I never brought that crap.
Pyramid head orgy....interesting.
And yea, Final fantasy is only for consoles for so dumb reason. I had thought it was coming out for all platforms but....eh. Guess Square doesn't like money. >_>
After doing some deep thinking on Undertale, I gotta say, that game is one of a kind. It's a game that's nearly impossible to talk about with someone who hasn't played it, because so much of what it is needs to be played to understand. It's a game that talks to the player, rather than the player character.
Another thing that's interesting is how the character we name isn't the one we play. Instead, the game, I think, plays it off as Frisk being possessed by Chara. This really shows during the Genocide run where frisk does things on his own. Very neat and well done.
I've read that after a Genocide run it's impossible to get a good ending. Have you tried that?
12? Wow so the dev knew people would die a lot. Shame Sans knows he can't win thanks to the power of SAVE. :p I wonder if his ending dialogue changes after completing the game on a pacifist run then beating it on a Genocide run. xD
Homecoming....I don't remember playing that. Is that the one if Pyramid head in it? I think I saw that and was all "Hell no I'm playing this SH2 rip off". Ruin the story for me as it may jog some memory. :D
10 years? Abs, why not use a godly PC instead of a pleb console? Don't let the console scrubs take thine soul! D:

I see you appreciate rivers in the desert too!

How did 2016 treat you?

Just checking in anyway. Hope you're well.
Oh boy yeah haha, I just googled Kyle McLaughlin and he's in his 50's so at least we can see a dune sequel as well in 10 years as well.
