Except for Viper, I've seen all those bands you mentioned. I like more their 90s phase, after André Matos formed Angra and the original bassist and main song writer Pit Passarell went to vocals. Pit Passarell died last week.
Ratos de Porão is one of my favorite bands, Violator and Whipstriker are also great. I actually promoted a gig with Whipstriker and Apokalyptic Raids (they share members), and we all crashed at a friend's house. They were also the band playing Toxic Holocaust for Joel Grind's tour. Cool guys.
Hey, I'm always curious about 90s mainstream scene, grunge (and "grungish" bands, 90s alternative rock in general) is something that always get me nostalgic. Can you tell me about 90s bands from Spain?
Nah, I just know a bit of Spanish punk because I was very involved in the punk scene. I played in some bands, had a distro, used to promote gigs. Knowing Eskorbuto and Sin Dios are kinda mandatory to be a punk around haha (my worn out jacket, that I probably haven't put on in 15 years, still has part of a Sin Dios song I've written on it). Ekkaia is also very popular among Brazilian crusties.
Your profile also mentions you are into progressive metal, I know Angra had some international recognition, do you know them? I was curious about what Brazilian bands you had heard about.
What Spanish bands do you think deserve more recognition and the world is missing out?
Do you think it's necessary to read previous manga parts, or by having this minimal JoJo knowledge (mostly from memes, and part from that Capcom arcade game), I can start at Part 7 already?
Oh, and by the way, are you really into music? I'd love to know some bands from Spain.
I really like Soziedad Alkoholika, and a friend of mine showed me Crucified and Legion, those are basically all I know of Spanish metal. But I'm really into punk, I love Eskorbuto, La Polla Records, Piperrak, Sin Dios, Boikot, Los Muertos de Cristo... when it comes to punk I know quite a few bands already hehe
But I like rock in general as well. So if you'd like to talk about music I'd love to know more about rock/metal/punk in Spain.
ps: If you are into thrash, perhaps you know this band from my country https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7Z8Ww1EmMk
I'm also a huge fan of NWOBHM and thrash metal, and the speed metal in the between... but wanted to ask you something unrelated... what's up with that JoJo part 7? I see it so often on people's favorites, is it so different from other JoJo stuff?
