I'm been watching anime and reading manga since I was young, but it took me a while to get into this fascinating "sub-culture".
I have a lot of patience regarding watching anime although I have about 10% of my list dropped. Most animes or mangas are dropped because I don't have access to more episodes and I just don't wanna bother that much trying to scavenger the rest.
I rate anime and manga pretty generously I believe. I don't really believe in giving a bad score only because I had some bad experience with a particular anime or manga. I try to rate it fairly for its value. Anyway, it's just my humble opinion.
That's the way I'm grading anime or manga:
10: flawless or almost flawlessly done or I had a really great time watching/reading it.
9: beautifully done, but with some small flaws to it that can be ignored/forgiven.
8: very good and highly enjoyable, but fall short to be considered a really memorable one.
7: good and enjoyable overall although very flawed. May be very well done but shallow or with great potential but poorly delivered.
6: average but still enjoyable. Probably pretty shallow or poorly executed.
5: watchable/readable. Not memorable.
4: very flawed and badly executed.
3: the same as 4 but with a bad after-taste if this makes sense.
2: garbage or waste of time. Some garbage can be fun to watch thou.
1: absolute almost no point watching or reading it besides for the lolz.
My average score is 7 (spoiled by middle and high school).
I don't really believe I should rate anime/manga I didn't finished, so consider the score to the portion watched/read. Sometimes I start rating a series highly, but I end up giving it a slightly lower rate after finishing it or vice-versa.
It's been almost a decade I touched my list, so it is grossly outdated.
I don't mind receiving friend requests, but I don't use MAL like a Facebook and I actually don't like that sort of thing, so if you don't have a compelling reason to add me in your friend list, please don't send me one.
