10/10 - an Anime which hit all the points perfectly (and unique)
9/10 - an Anime which hit most of the points perfectly
8/10 - an Anime who hit all the points greatly
7/10 - an Anime which missed one department or hit the others decently enough
6/10 - an Anime which is lacking two department or have done things average
5/10 - an Anime which which is severely lacking in good content in most aspects (mediocre)
4/10 - an anime which has done the points in a boring way or uninteresting

aspect
Notes:
-My favourite anime (list) will rank series (and not individual season) by order and only one season will be featured from the same anime and it will be my favourite season of that particular series
- I don't consider fillers part of the scoring because these episodes are skippable
- Personally I find it stupid when people consider the OP/ED part of the scoring because it has no effect to the experience nor it is significant to the plot
-I dislike series that features :
-- Weak(personality), whiny or especially beta male MC
--Comedy in:
---a dark setting
---serious moments
-- Unless the anime is a comedic work (ex. OPM S1, Sakamoto, Attack on junior high), I hate the anime when the comedy is 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲 used when it serves no purpose in any way
-One indicator that makes me pass a quick impression on a series is that if you ask someone "why do you like this anime/manga?" and they respond with "The animation/art is incredible!" statement *first*, then thanks for letting me know that it is a mediocre series
- I hate long dialogues in manga, so if a manga has it constantly, it will most probably get dropped
- Dialogues (For me) are the most important thing to execute in the best possible way because even if you have an amazing theme with unique concept, if the dialogues/interactions are not intriguing, captivating or interesting for me then I would feel bored from watching and most probably the series will be dropped
-Stand alone movies are very hard to get a high score in my list because of it's short duration, I can hardly connect to the characters or get engaged in the story
--Anime series that score 8 or above and movies scoring 7 or above in my list are definitely worth the watch
- For production values, If it's decent and isn’t boring in terms of presentation then that's enough for me (disregarding of it's time). It is worth 1 point in my ratings
- IDC for musics/OSTs (meaning it doesn't count in my ratings) but I do appreciate it when anime have fire ones
- The length of a series affects my rating, if the quality isn't better or consistent then gradually it will lose more score as time passes
- Personally, I don't enjoy manga as much as anime so I prefer to watch the anime, if it's incomplete or horribly adapted, then I read the manga from the get go. If it's decently adapted then I will start from where the anime stopped
- I feel bad when I watch a series that has a potential to be great but doesn't want to do anything to gain that spot of "best of the best", either by being stale or just repeating old cliches or same cycle of plot writing from other animes, or no tension in action series hence nobody die nor have serious injury and even if they do there is some sort of B.S. for insta-recovery which makes this whole scene of pain/agony pointless. However, it's an amazing feeling when you think a series doesn't have a potential to be great and you critic it, then as it progress it touches on the criticism you made about it and far exceed your expectations in terms of execution (one of them is chihayafuru for me)
What kind of nonsense are you blabbering, you didn't state shit, your complaints feel like more of a "i find it boring, so it's gotta be mediocre" type of shit, and can u prove how is the relationship not enough developed, how there wasn't enough build up, They literally have a whole ass dynamic with each other, She was the sheathe to a sharp sword like Kenshin, They even share common similarities with each other like both have lost something in their life, that's why Kenshin has developed feelings towards her more so like he can relate to her on a personal level. Kenshin even felt guilty when he killed that assassin in front of Tomoe, When she said those words that shit made him think for a sec about what he is actually doing is right or wrong then later interact with each other, slowly develops a proper relationship u might find it boring but u cannot act like it was the weak link, when it was the entire selling point of the series and when they interact later they authentically develop a relationship despite Tomoe was supposed to kill the guy he fell for "Shinta" the kind hearted soul inside the ruthless assassin, Sounds good enough of a romantic sub plot to me. Like u don't need 20-30 episodes to develop a relationship it can be done in just two episodes or so. And comparing a romantic relationship from a movie/small ova to a goddamn tv series, really brings up questions about ur intellect. I love rose of Versailles but its not like it wasn't corny and overdramatic at times when it was portraying the romantic relationships between Marie and fersen, It felt like they were shoving their relationship onto our face but it was still good and all but it wasn't as perfect as u thought it was, PPL give too much credit to 80s and 70s anime
How was it not well executed when it was literally the highlight of the entire OVA, Fights were always secondary here. And it doesn't seem like it needed other plots cause I mean there would not be only a single thing going on in the entire show or just focus on one thing then leave the rest vague, it touched most of the important things. All the gruesome scenes at the beginning were setting up for the relationship then later hit us with the tragedy at the end, it went just perfectly
It's a 4 episode OVA not fucking 110 episodes of schlocky snoozefest storyline, Obviously you are not going to get Hiko's backstory and all that, It only serves as a purpose to Showcase Kenshin's psyche when he was a man slayer, His tragic past to be precise
Yeah, the series is great and really fleshes out the world and characters. I highly recommend it! At least Stand Alone Complex season 1. I’ve heard season 2 is amazing but I haven’t seen it yet. Sadly, the Netflix season is apparently horrible.

Thanks for the reply! It is really rare to have people write me that they actually agree, it kinda makes me happy. And yes, i might have been harsh on the music a bit too much. When I wrote the review, I think I picked random scenes and listened in. That might just have been unlucky choices after all. And I had the opening appear once in animemusicquiz lately, I think I was a bit biased because I already knew after a few minutes that this just isn't my kind of show, and prejudices kinda affect the rating of everything else. However, I don't really like changing my reviews, even though I think that some of my reviews would need a... revision, especially my Cowboy Bebop and Ping Pong ones. It would feel unfair to everyone who gave me a helpful mark, if I changed it.
My expirience with most people who write me on my commentwall and hate me for that review is by the way the same as what people say on twitter. I mean, good, at first they insult me, thats probably different. But aside from that, after I ask them what exactly they didn't like my review and that they are free to discuss with me, 90% or so don't even answer anymore. I feel like a lot of people are just influenced by peer pressure when they see astronomical scores like those of Ping Pong. Of course, some people just have completely different tastes from us and might see something in that anime I couldn't, and I by no means blame them for that, I have quite a lot of things on my list where I saw something that quite a lot of people didn't see, but for that expirence one mustn't be influenced by something like a mean score beforehand.
Some 5 years ago some friends and I opted to watch every top 100 anime at that time, and I noticed that I seriously disliked a lot of it, because I went in with the prejudice it HAD to be good. Well, this is getting kinda long and rambly again, thanks for your nice words anyways!
I didn't shit on the OVA, I gave it a 9 out of 10. I also criticized elements of the new series. To be honest, I like both but it's hard to compare directly until New Thesis actually adapts the rest of the novels.
