Actually if you read it the way I meant it, the target of that paragraph is mainly makers of the show. Also I guess I'm a bit sick of reading things like "if you don't cry while watching this masterpiece, then you're not human", and it's kind of a retort to those kind of opinions rather than those who just like the show. It's also worth bearing in mind that a lot of the things I write in my reviews are somewhat embellished to strongly express an opinion rather than for the purpose of mocking people.
lol you say it's a copy and paste... and it shows. You appear to be arguing half the time against someone else who made various claims, only some of which I've made. I'm not even sure which points to refute because I don't know exactly which points are aimed me.
Emotions are arises from situations and the character iteractions. When those situations and characters are contrived and artificial, I have trouble feeling the emotions of the story. If you still can enjoy it, then fine, I'm just saying I don't. As for shakespeare... I'm not really into his works, having only come across them in school. But then, they're taken from a completely different time period, and from a completely different medium, so I don't judge them out of context.
I didn't like Grave of the Fireflies because of the controversial themes, I liked it because of the interactions between the two siblings. There are also one or two parts of it that feels like a set up, but at least it gets the important parts right. In Clannad, we have a bunch of girls acting like they're even younger than the little sister in Grave of the Fireflies. Even ignoring the BS that's found everywhere in the story, is it so weird I don't buy into the drama which involves a harem where every character feels like they've jumped straight out of a moe dating sim?
And your rant at the end just make you look like you have an inferiority complex. At the end of the day, everyone is different, everyone is an individual, and just because I expressed an opinion that's different from the majority and in particular yours, doesn't mean I'm doing it for the attention. Running around calling everyone who disagrees with you an elitist hardly makes you better.
And next time, please, at least make the effort to write a message that's actually addressed to me instead of someone else...
Welcome to MAL :)
I would like to recommend Beelzebub to you. I really think you'll like it. It's about a delinquent who's raising Beelzebub, the son of the demon king. It's hilarious and cool. Definitely watch it.
And people here don't really care about how you act in real life (well, at least most don't). Quite a few of us are weird, in a way ^^
