I'm here to watch some Chinese cartoons. I promise I won't do anything inappropriate. Decided to keep track of them after so many years because I thought it could be fun. That's about it really.
I like watching some of those Chinese Cartoons! My friends say I'm the harshest player in town when it comes to anime, but I like to think that 90% of anime is utter trash. I mean, with shit like Attack on Titan, Mirai Nikki, and Sword Art Online being the recent front-runners you can't blame me. Fanservice is one of the things I legitimately try to avoid. Is not a thing that bothers me too much if done here and there, but if the shows sole purpose is to drop watermelons and peaches in so many hilarious and unique scenarios that I just want to die because of how hilarious it is.
I get it okay, this is so some dude in /a/ pulls a one punch man on himself because of some WebM of a white-haired cat girl that's magically censored by blooming and mysterious rays of light then that'll push him into buying the over-priced, small house loan that's the uncensored Blu-ray release. But seriously, there's only so many times you can see a guy slide down the thighs of "taste the rainbow" personified while unhealthy amounts of blood are being spilled out of their nostrils.
I just dislike anime tropes. Because okay, let's get into this. We have Yandere and Tsundere, these are among the most boring things in the planet. Is just lazy character development. Oh hey! Who would've seen that coming!? That the nice character is actually really evil and want to kill the main character! Or WOOOOAH, The bitchy character is actually a good person and just wanted to help along, but couldn't because she wears a dress and has lots of money. I am astonished with this high level of writing. I can't wait to see it in museums 200 years from now when I inevitably invent the elixir of immortality and keep it to myself.
Shounen and Seinen are my strong field. If I'm watching something it probably falls on those. I don't mind the other genres, but those are just my powerhouse. That said, I unconditionally despise harems and ecchi. Want to know why? Read the above two paragraphs. I'm always open to suggestions so if you've seen something that I might like, throw it over here! I'll definitely try to watch it sometime in the next twenty years!
I'm heavy into music, like, almost obsessive. Actually, scratch the almost. I'm a metalhead, but I listen to a bit of everything in all honesty. Be it Jazz, K-Pop, Rap, Cybernetic VaporCore, I'll jump on it. I'm a strong believer of that it doesn't matter how much you dislike a genre, there will be something there you will like. I've been proven correctly in a personal level with various things I've found in genres I usually can't stand like the aforementioned K-Pop, but also in things like Noise and Grindcore. Honestly, I just like weird music, that should've summed up all of that.
My favorite band is Dir En Grey, has been for almost seven years. They are a band that plays to all the dumb, little things I like in music. The fast, varied progressive song structures, the demented ways the singer uses his six-octave vocal range and the darker sound just to mention a few things because I could be typing about the little things I like all day. My favorite singers are Dir En Grey's Kyo and Mike "whatever he's doing now" Patton.
While I like hearing music that's instrumental, what pushes me over the edge in whether I get obsessed with a band or not is the vocalist. There're two things I like to look for, one is the passion. I don't like robotic sounding singers, I like hearing them like if they actually care. The other is versatility, hit more than two notes. Tried doing weird things with your vocals, sing into vocal fry and then jump into that whistle register or do some weird pseudo-opera then just start singing normally. Jump from a C2 to an E6 mid-sentence. One or the other is fine, but if its both even better.
Recently, I talk mo' about video games than I play them. Video games are pretty gosh darn fun to talk about and well, only occasionally fun to play them. I'll usually play anything thrown my way regardless of quality. Give me something amazing and I'll probably play it to the half-way point because its too long or give me something awful and I'll finish the entire thing with a shiny 100%
I'm not too big into MMOs. While there're several reasons for that, the main ones seem to be the usual boring combat system, boring grinding, boring worlds, boring quests and so on. Can you tell I find them boring? Although, I've played my fair share that I've actually liked. The only one which I currently play is Phantasy Star Online 2, so if you play it, hit me up yo. I'm on Ship 2: Ur and I'd love to have some people to play that game with.
That being said, I absolutely despise MOBAs.
Favorite Game: Metal Gear Solid 3
Favorite Genre: Character Action games a.k.a Spectacle Fighters.
REVIEW THINGIES
Everything from 5-8 usually means I enjoyed it in some fashion. The 5's usually mean they are average or just thought they were alright. 9's are reserved for things that surprised me in many ways and 10's are a rare sight; The unicorns of my ratings. These usually go to things that blew my mind in such a way, it's almost impossible for me to shut up about it. 4's are usually just not my cup of tea and everything below that is just varying degrees of hatred.
I'm not wasting too much time on the reviews. Nothing more than five minutes; Anything reviewed here will be my instant thoughts after watching the show.
If you'd like to talk with me because we have high compatibility in the anime list or just want chat in general; You can send me a message here and I'll answer you whenever I can.
