Well, initially I really wanted to know why people are looking so hard for politics in anime. But for some reason, with each page, they started reading this as "why are there so many SJWs in the anime ?!" And when I tried to say something else, I was simply accused of what I mean by politics as "opposite agenda". It seems that some people just took it as a stone in their direction and began to defend their views.

Thank you for participating in the discussion. It was funny to find out that I am a "right-wing propagandist" after opening the very first topic about a near-political topic, or to receive accusations about my specialty just because I do not see the world through the eyes of the user. And the funny thing is, despite all the flame, people only confirmed my idea of the politicization of the community and the growing perception of anime as a field of culture war. Despite the fact that some have traditionally tried to pretend that I am complaining about certain ideas and not politics in general.

Art don't need to be unpleasent and strange, that is also a positive purpose.
A negative purpose is a purpose without content, one can only imagine that the work of art is made for some purpose but no clear purpose fits it.
As in the artwork is not a tool to reach some other goal, the artwork is the goal in itself, a sort of manifestation of the freedom of reason.
It can be pleasent, it can be unpleasent, but the artwork draws one in by it's unique lack of a positive purpose, a negative purpose, just the form of a purpose without it's defining content.

The thread is locked so I answer here:
Hm let's see... The later Sonatas that Mozart composed couldn't have been said to advance the form further than his earlier ones already did. So they weren't innovative. They also had no political agenda, nor where they even religious in nature (something common of pre-romantic music.) He made them cause he wanted to make some enjoyable music.

Radically free does not mean innovative, rather it is about it's negativity of it's purpose, if he as you say only wanted to make enjoyable music, then his music loses to the most enjoyable music, or the most enjoyable thing.
To be enjoyable is a positive purpose, radical freedom in art is to do something without such a clear purpose.
If your argument relies heavily on the aspect of "pleasantness" (something I have an inkling is the case) I would add that by that definition a lot of art such as soundtracks to video games and movies - which are specifically composed in such a manner to be pleasant without drawing too much attention to themselves - are not art; something soundtrack composers will likely want to have a word with, especially given that "pleasant" can easily require the same amount of effort (or more) as allegedly "radically free" art. Certainly the case when comparing any soundtrack composer to Duchamp.

If they only serve to be pleasent then they are craftmaship or design, as in devoid of the free artistic thinking of art.
Wait... I just realized you wrote "classics." What do you mean by "classics"? I thought we were talking about art? While Mozart's Sonatas fit that mold and therefore my argument would hold water either way, I can't help but be suspicious whether you are intending to move the goalpost by try to argue now that it's only "classics" that require some manner of "revolutionary" quality (nonsense still, because anyone well-versed in art will be able to provide evidence that true revolution is nigh-unheard of in art and even large shifts in short periods of time are usually based on all kinds of aspects of earlier works,) which, despite being wrong still, would be a far easier argument to make. I might be wrong. If I am, pay this no heed. But if I am wrong, we should make clear (for the purpose of clarity in this argument) that we are talking about "art," not "classics."

We are talking about art, classics are only examples of art, and the ability of art to become a classic tend to show that it is radically free in the sense that I am implying.

I'm asking because I live in Canada, and even though there is quite a big community here I don't have a lot of experience with interacting with Gay people. The gay people here tend to also mirror America as well with behaviors and beliefs. Since I see this so often I am kind of wary of what I say around gay people, because I don't know how they will react if I say something that they may not agree with. Like if I brought up the topic of forced diversity in fiction and entertainment, I may be met with hostility and I'd rather not deal with that. Since I lack interaction with gay people in general, I don't really know the gay communities opinion on much of anything except of the vocal minority that is on twitter or any other social media platform. which generally tends to be toxic. I admittedly have had beliefs that the LBGT community as a whole supports this kind of behavior but when I see reasonable people that are LBGT like yourself it makes me really want to rethink my stance and get more opinions of others in the LBGT community..

Edit: Sorry I had to make another comment, it wouldn't let me post in the already existing comment chain for some reason.

Hi, Sorry If I'm bothering you but I just wanted to ask you a question. In that other thread the topic of the LBGT community got brought up. Is the LGBT community in your Country different from America? Because it seems like people who are in the LBGT community in other country's outside of the USA are a lot more reasonable to talk to about these kinds of issues.
