Then it’ll get added to my plan to read list! I may be able to read it soon and tell you my thoughts later! <3
Makes sense to me. Could I ask you though, I can make decent assumption: but what genres do you like? Are you a fan of some other cultures or fandoms outside of anime? You seem to be delving quite a bit into Haikyuu! I have thoughts of my own, but how are you enjoying it so far?
Geass really did have a niche, but fun artstyle at times indeed lol. God, those long legs, right? I’m a big fan of the 2000’s era of anime, it really seemed like it knew exactly what it wanted to do, and I’m not even saying this in terms of nostalgia because I got into anime in 2012, they just have a different feeling to them. The 90’s era was heavily existential, but the 2000’s seemed more cohesive, yet able to take risk. As for how I feel about 2010-2020. Uh, wow, it’s had many ups and downs lol, I’ll need a bit more time to think about it… >.>
Well finally, someone gets it! A lot of people come into Uzumaki expected The Conjuring, but get something else and they get turned away from it and call it stupid. I find that in anime and manga, things that have horrific elements in non horror anime, scare me WAY more than horror anime itself.
This one sequence here - scares me WAY more than any straight-horror anime I have ever seen lol. And it’s just a shounen.
I got to admit, I really like Uzmaki myself - but I find the ending to be a bit underwhelming :/ Uzumaki’s main thematic throughline is that it’s a story about entropy, spirals, cycles, etc, in some respect - it’s lightly nihilistic, but not exactly, entirely depressing. The ending, well, it just kinda… stops? I wish we had some insight, even if just a hint, about what happens after the ending - is the world destroyed? Is the world okay? Will a cycle repeat again? Just, anything lol - it’s my one thing I kinda don’t like about the manga. >.< But even then, it’s a great, and stomach-churning read lol.
Don’t worry at all - your English is actually really good! I wouldn’t have been able to tell English was anything but your first language honestly. O_O Do you enjoy living in Argentina? I’ve ALWAYS WANTED TO VISIT!
My Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor, Rodrgio, was born and raised in Argentina, and I admired him a lot! He was like an older brother to me before we eventually lost touch. He told me some really interesting stuff! Like, uh, I don’t want to be rude - but why do you guys have milk in bags?!??!?! O_O Is anime popular there?
Oh that sounds interesting! Is it an anthology series or something?
Ah I see. Though this is just me personally but I never considered Code Geass to be shounen, more akin to political drama with light seinin elements - but hey, I’m not one to play semantics it’s japanese cartoons all the same lol. What got you to go for it and give it a try? Were you interested in anime from the 2000’s era and or got it recommend or,..? I kind of appreciate it as I age more, I think it has a lot of gaps in its thinking but believe it was well intentioned and well studied in terms of it showing elements of historical conflicts between colonization and national interest. But I’m probably just being a dork. >.>
I was looking at your list and yeah, I’d say we’re pretty similar! I got Bleach flashbacks looking through your list too lol, it was such a fun show when I was younger.
Absolutely! Ito is an amazing author and Japan’s answer, rather, offspring of Lovecraft in his genre, quite easily infact. Ito is a man that seems to understand that animation, inherently, can’t really shock or scar you the same way live action can - it can - but not in the same way - kids are so desensitized to shit happening to characters in comics and stuff and have been for the past 20 odd years - which is why Ito’s horror doesn’t SCARE you, it unnerves you, and it aims to do that, and does it better than any author in this medium if you ask me. Uzumaki is a book that gets under my skin so much, I legitimately do NOT read it outside of the month of october, and it’s hidden in the darkest depths of my closet until that time comes again lol… which is soon. God help me lmao. How did you feel about the ending?

Also, thanks for the friend request! I accept! <3
Also, that Monster and Evangelion in favorites - not to mention Berserk. So much respect <3
I see you really enjoyed Code Geass a lot! I think it's not without its flaws but liked it quite a bit. Are you interested in watching the spin offs?
Pero nada le llega parte 7, tiene todo lo bueno de las partes anteriores
Y dos mangas, Fire Punch y Homunculus
