Manga Author Explains the New Characters of Kuroshitsuji II

Toboso Yana, the author of Kuroshitsuji manga, posted an entry about Kuroshitsuji II in her web diary. She explained the background of the decision to announce the new master and the butler last January.

I was never bothered by the fact there was a new butler/master couple, mostly because I assumed that Ciel had already his soul eaten in the first season and that since the manga was still ongoing, they were just making a spin-off.

I do gotta admit I liked it A LOT MORE when Sebastian and Ciel re-appeared, but I think the fans overreacted. Nobody can't say there won't be another anime adaptation once the manga ends :D (I just hope it happens before Maaya Sakamoto and Daisuke Ono's voices change too much over time lol I cannot imagine other people for the roles!)

I loved how this was everyone's immediate response. I really happy they kept that a secret. It made it way better. People were mad and just decided to ignore this season completely. I almost did until I found out Sakurai Takahiro was Claude's seiyuu. I'm looking forward to this season. ^^

Regardless of what she does, I still like Kuroshitsuji alot <333 I'm glad for the new characters, probably make the story more interesting and also, the surprise of Ciel and Sebastian was awesome too~~ great workk~~ I'm really enjoying the series. waiting for more~~~

I'm glad Toboso had a reason for creating that random master/butler duo - it's so we can have a second season.

Many fans were probably wondering what the contents of the new season would be, if Ciel would still be alive, and if some of their favorite manga chapters *coughcoughCircusarccough* would finally be animated. Well...the fandom sort of has all their questions answered.

I'm hoping that this Trancy vs. Phantomhive feud develops into something greater, which I think it will, considering how well the first season was written for a filler series. The cover-up and new characters were clever moves on Toboso and Aniplex's parts.

I'm glad I kept my faith on the new series. I was a little doubtful, but even if Sebastian and Ciel hadn't shown up, I was so intrigued by the new characters that I probably wouldn't have minded. I think it's been handled well, and am looking forward to Ciel's "awakening".

That was definitely the right choice, bringing Ciel and Sebastien back. I bet her and the series' popularities soared.

Kinda wished they didn't show Sebastian soon. If they waited an episode or so when everyone left THEN pulled it Sebastian, it would've been more delicious.

Well, this statement at least made me curious about the anime... I started watching the first episode the other day and couldn't go through with it, it was all so nonsensical. But I'm giving it another try, though. If the mangaka says wait, we wait.
