Winners of 29th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize Announced

Asahi Shimbun announced the winners of the 29th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize on Wednesday. The awards ceremony will be held on June 5 at the Hamarikyuu Asahi Hall in Tsukiji, Tokyo.

Grand Prize: 1-byou 24-koma no Boku no Jinsei by Rintarou
New Work Prize: Dokudami no Hanasaku Koro by Shiho Kido
Short Work Prize: The Kinks by Shunji Enomoto
Special Prize: Yokote Masuda Manga Museum for preserving manga culture and dedicating three decades to archiving original drawings of manga.

Seven nominees were announced by Asahi Shimbun in February, as chosen by bookstore staff and experts from a list of titles that had at least one volume released last year. The nominees were [Oshi no Ko], Battle Scar, Busu nante Iwanaide, Chizu ni Nai Basho, Haibaiyoushi Mizuiro, and Umi ga Hashiru End Roll. The Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize was established in 1997 and is an annual manga prize awarded to mangaka and their works that best follow the manga approach of the late Osamu Tezuka.

I wish MAL's team would add the works featured in the news to the DB before posting. Since the news piece is essentially promoting these works anyway (and I'm grateful for pointing to these interesting works), shouldn't they be at least in the DB? And since mods are the ones creating the news there shouldn't be trouble in quickly adding those entries.
