Publishing company Shogakukan announced a television anime adaptation of Minoru Toyoda's Kore Kaite Shine (Draw This, Then Die!) manga on Friday, revealing a teaser visual (pictured). The anime series will broadcast on NTV.

Toyoda began serializing the comedy drama manga in Gessan magazine in November 2021. Shogakukan published the sixth volume in August 2024 and will release the seventh volume on April 11.

Kore Kaite Shine won the 16th Manga Taisho Awards in 2023 and the 70th Shogakukan Manga Awards in January 2025 alongside Shakunetsu Kabaddi (Burning Kabaddi), Natsume Arata no Kekkon (Arata Natsume Getting Married), and Puniru wa Kawaii Slime. The manga also placed sixth in the 2023 edition of the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! rankings in the Male Readers category.

Synopsis
Ai Yasumi, a first-year high school student living on Izu-Oshima, loves manga more than anything. When she learns that her long-admired, yet long-inactive, favorite manga artist Hoshi no Rei will be exhibiting at COMITIA, she sets off on a journey to Tokyo.

What she doesn't expect, however, is that a fateful encounter at the event will change her life forever.

"How does one become a manga artist?" Ai steps into the world of manga creation—a path she thought she understood, yet knows so little about. This is the story of a girl taking her first steps down the road to becoming a mangaka.

@Yubisoft No strawmans, because your argument had no context other than "this". What conclusion was I supposed to draw then? I can't read minds.

@RobertBobert Strawman argument won't get you anywhere when talking to people like me. But still, to answer your question, I said :

not CGDCT in general

@lucaspatrick This is a school all-female shonen, I doubt it's lewd or fetishized in any way.

@RobertBobert wow really? I was thinking about watching It since It Won an Awardz but now i dont known, apparently the guy who makes this story is 53 or 54 years old, so the hobby of a middle-aged maybe ugly bastard Japanese guy is to draw school girls, this is more common than it seems in Japan, I don't know what to think about this

@Yubisoft You doesn't believe that hobby CGDCT can deservedly win an award?

@lucaspatrick This is a moe all-female school club anime, so you can easily call it CGDCT if you want.

Lol, I first learned about this manga only a couple of months ago, but I'm going to watching it out now. Firstly, because of the awards, and secondly, because I literally fell victim to the Mandela effect yesterday due to the thought that the anime was already announced a long time ago, lmao.
