Production company Aniplex opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Sakae Saitou's Shuumatsu Touring (Touring After the Apocalypse) manga on Monday, revealing the main cast, studio, announcement promo and teaser visual (pictured). The anime is scheduled to premiere in 2025.

Voice actresses Konomi Inagaki (Sentai Red Isekai de Boukensha ni Naru) and Miyu Tomita (Kimi no Koto ga Daidaidaidaidaisuki na 100-nin no Kanojo) are starring as Youko and Airi, respectively. Animation studio Nexus (Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!) is producing the anime.

Saitou began serializing the adventure slice of life manga in Dengeki Maoh magazine in September 2020. Kadokawa published the sixth volume on June 26, with the seventh volume planned for a March 27 release.

Yen Press licensed the manga in English in 2022 and released the fifth volume on December 10. The sixth volume is scheduled to go on sale on July 22.

Synopsis
All alone after the end of days, two girls bike through the empty ruins of Japan—and they're not about to let the collapse of civilization get in the way of sightseeing! Even when the world ends, their journey goes on. (Source: Yen Press)

Shuumatsu Touring on MAL

I'd say zat put it very well. I am not current but 4 volumes deep into reading it, and it is just a nice comfortable read with hints of mystery. The MC is very intriguing to me the further we get into it, but it initally is just two friends travelling across a wasteland on a 'guided tour' in a way. I am not much of a car guy, but someone in the forum's for it here on MAL has been pointing out all the noticeable models of cars in the backdrops. In tone though I think Kino's is a great comparison. If those are your things I think youll enjoy this

@CocoaGalaxy Before the world was captured by isekai, the post Apocalypse was one of the most popular setting to justify the original premise.

@zat_7 That is, this is a typical story about how the protagonist travels and meets various people to get various messages or a reason to think?

I've been keeping up with the physical English editions since they started publishing, and personally I'd say it isn't all that moe. Yeah the characters are drawn in this very rounded and cutesy style which is able to flip-flop between a comedic and more serious tone depending on the context, but they're often contrasted against pretty detailed/cluttered backdrops of destroyed cities and other bits of human infrastructure. Very little fanservice outside of a several bathing/swimming scenes and low-oriented panels that don't show anything of note. Nothing to say of any yuri either. This is very much a story of two companions trying to reach an end goal with no real show of affection between them beyond that of friends who help one another through thick and thin. I'd mention some specifics about the characters, but I don't wanna dip into spoiler territory. Overall though, it is very much a Girls' Last Tour meets Yuru Camp with a heavy dosage of Kino's Journey type of story. If ya like any of those, you'll probably enjoy this to a similar extent.

Premise already sounds quite funny and at the same time interesting, but I have an obvious question. Has anyone read manga? How much is it moe, fanservice or Yuri? It seems that Fan Translation was quietly dead several years ago, so I do not want to make a blurry preliminary opinion about the manga based on comments without context.

I love works with humans or other beings traveling through devastated places.
