Shinichi Fukuda, the manga creator of Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru (My Dress-Up Darling), posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday that the manga will end in the next chapter. The seventh issue of Young Gangan will publish the 115th and final chapter on March 21.

Fukuda began serializing the romantic comedy manga, also known by its short name KiseKoi, in Young Gangan in January 2018. Square Enix published the 14th volume on November 25 last year (pictured). The manga has a cumulative 12 million copies of its volumes in circulation.

CloverWorks adapted the manga into a 12-episode television anime in Winter 2022. Crunchyroll and Funimation streamed the anime with subtitles and an English dub. A second season is currently in production for a 2025 airing.

A live-action drama adaptation aired in ten episodes on Mainichi Broadcasting System's Dramaism programming block from October to December in 2024.

Square Enix licensed the manga in English under its Manga & Books imprint in July 2019. The 12th volume went on sale last October, with the 13th volume planned for an April 15 release. The manga is also published in multiple foreign languages, including Spanish, French, Italian, German, Polish, and Brazilian Portuguese.

@MegamiRem Do you think that there are signs of some kind of intervention in the original plans?

First switching to monthly release and then this. Think either author is burnt out or health problem, both common in this industry. Sucks that the end was so soon but I'd take this over dragging it for eternity like most mangakas any day.

Time has come to finish 😭 off our one of the favourite series

Why not keep going though? I feel like once you get people invested in the characters, you can keep going with their story for as long as you want. The lives of the characters are far from boring.

Quick note: I’m only up to volume 12

The ending was, well, kind of expected. Whatever.

Come for the romance, stay for the ecchi. Can't think of a better way to recommend KiseKoi to anybody. For better or for worse, it at least made ecchi an actually ACCEPTED genre (without people going "REEE FAN SERVICE") and I've got to commend it for this at the very least.

Extremely disappointing. I feel like it should have been more. I expected at 20 volumes. Anyway. Can't wait to see an ecchi manga from the mangaka again

Man, overhype titles do not really live for a long time in our time. It seemed that I watched anime only yesterday.

@Softhenic03 Can they really adapt the entire manga in 2-3 seasons if they miss something?

Thank you for your services. o7

@Softhenic03 No thanks.

I just hope the next season concludes the entire manga, because there's just soooo much stuff they can skip over.

Not a manga reader so hopefully this gets a complete adaptation by Cloverworks.
