Second Season of 'Sentai Daishikkaku' Announces Additional Cast

The official website for the Sentai Daishikkaku (Go! Go! Loser Ranger!) television anime revealed seven additional cast for the second season on Wednesday. The new season is scheduled to premiere on April 13 at 11:30 on CBC and TBS' Agura Anime timeslot.

Hwalipon: Kouji Yusa (Bleach)
Yakushi Usukubo: Hiroshi Kamiya (Shingeki no Kyojin)
Kyousuke Wakaba: Yuuki Kaji (Boku no Hero Academia)
Masashi Nishiki: Masakazu Morita (Kingdom)
Chidori: Kousuke Toriumi (JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 5: Ougon no Kaze)
Mine Gatou: Hiroshi Shirokuma (Overlord)
Shigenobu Murakami: Satoru Itou (Mashle)

Keiichi Satou (Inuyashiki) returns to direct the second season at Yostar Pictures. Keiichirou Oochi (Under Ninja) is handling the series composition, and Kahoko Koseki is designing the characters. Yoshihiro Ike (Dororo) is composing the music.

The anime adapts Negi Haruba's action sci-fi manga, which began in Weekly Shounen Magazine in February 2021. Kodansha shipped the 17th volume on January 17.

Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English in November 2021. The 12th volume went on sale on February 18 and the 13th volume is scheduled to ship on May 20.

@Fabris I am not a specialist in the genre, so I can be wrong. But in my eyes, this is rather an attempt to deconstruct villains in the genre and study why they constantly lose despite stable attempts. That is, this is something like Villainess Otome Isekai for Tokusatsu.

@RobertBobert I will never understand why this manga triggered japanese tokufans 2 much, aint this fundamentally Madoka/Princess Tutu for Tokus? Or The Boys for Tokus?

Are Tokusatsu fans this much more fragile than mahou shoujo fans, and capeslop fans? Bizarre...

@KimgeaR I did not read the original manga, but I heard that in Japan it is perceived too seriously as the deconstruction of the genre and therefore in its homeland it has a much more controversial reputation because of the Tokusatsu superfans.

I don’t like 5-toubun, but I’m kinda interested in what Haruba’s doing with Sentai Daishikkaku. Trying to write a story with completely different genres/themes from his previous work is what I would not expect.

@KimgeaR In both cases, the authors of very popular romantic comedies moved to very cruel edgy stories about revenge, which are a dark look at previously light genres. Actually, I already wrote about this above.

Considering that even the Japanese consider this manga too cruel and cynical processing of the genre, I am interested in what a chance that it ends with a really gloomy ending. But one way or another, it is very difficult to refrain from comparing this manga with Oshi No Ko. For various reasons.
