'Cocoon: Aru Natsu no Shoujo-tachi yori' Announces Main Cast, Staff
The official website for the television anime adaptation of Machiko Kyou's Cocoon manga announced the main cast and staff on Friday. The anime is scheduled to premiere with an early broadcast in March 2025 on BS-NHK and begin the main broadcast in August 2025 on NHK-G.
Actresses Hikari Mitsushima (One Piece Film: Gold) and Marika Itou are starring as Mayu and San, respectively.
Yukimitsu Ina (Yojouhan Time Machine Blues animation director, Heike Monogatari key animation) is directing the anime and Kensuke Ushio (Dandadan, Chi. Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite) is composing the music.
Kyou serialized the historical drama manga in Elegance Eve from May 2008 to July 2010.
