Boichi, the manga artist behind Dr. Stone, began a new manga titled The Marshal King on the Shounen Jump+ web magazine on Friday. The action-packed Western tale took the top spot on the platform's Friday rankings, surpassing 500,000 views.

Set in a lawless era dominated by outlaws, The Marshal King follows Jim Godspeed, the son of the legendary criminal M. Godspeed, who wielded a fabled "golden arm." After supposedly slaying his own father, Jim drags an enormous iron coffin containing his father's body across the desert, seeking entry into the Western Federal Marshal Training Academy. When a group of marshals tries to take credit for capturing M. Godspeed, Jim displays superhuman strength, using the coffin itself as a weapon to defend his claim.

Boichi, known for his works Sun-Ken Rock and Origin, has also illustrated One Piece: Episode A (One Piece: Ace's Story), which follows the backstory of Ace. Due to this connection, many readers have pointed out visual and thematic similarities between Jim Godspeed and Ace.

@Adnash They were so large that they were enough for a separate volume?

@RobertBobert Yeah, it had. Those sequel chapters were later compiled as volume 27, wchis became the new final volume of this manga series..

I really like his art for the most part but I'm not sure I'd like his writing.

Oh, interesting! I need to check it out soon. Sounds good, and with Boichi-sensei's stunning art style I bet it's gonna be a good-looking series. :)

Yes, it is. At least it doesn't seem like it is about to get any new chapter that'd be linked to the original storyline. But well, you never know what will happen in the future. After all, many Dr. Stone fans, me included, believed that vol. 26 was the last one until vol. 27, consisting of all sequel chapters, was released.

ORIGIN is so fucking good and everyone should read it. We're very lucky that it magically got a Western published release this past year.

Sounds like something very in the spirit of the 90s or early 00s. Even like One Pice reminded. But one way or another, Dr. Stone is currently officially completely finished?
