Second Season of 'True Beauty' Anime Announced

A second season for Yeosin Gangnim (True Beauty) was announced following the Japanese premiere of its 13th and final episode on Saturday. The official Japanese X (formerly Twitter) account of the anime also revealed a commemorative visual (pictured).

Produced by Studio N and Cocktail Media, the anime series adapting Yaongyi's romantic comedy webtoon streamed exclusively on Crunchyroll from August to October in 2024.

Yaongyi serialized the webtoon on the Naver Webtoon platform from April 2018 to April 2023. Young Com published the 19th and final volume in June 2023.

Webtoon Entertainment digitally published the webtoon in English and multiple other languages. Wattpad Webtoon Studios began publishing physical volumes in English under its Webtoon Unscrolled imprint in November 2022 and released the fifth volume on November 5 last year.

A 16-episode K-drama adaptation aired on tvN from December 2020 to February 2021.

Synopsis
Tired of being looked down upon for her unattractive appearance, middle schooler Lim Jugyeong turns to the transformative powers of makeup. First, she experiments with BB cream, lip tint, and eyeliner; then she begins using mascara, double eyelid glue, and colored contacts.
