Lol how are they going to fit all those 10 years into an OVA? How long is it going to be?

If it's satisfying, I'll watch this. I haven't watched One Piece yet because yeah it's 400+ ep XD

Wow, Im just stunned. This is one of the best things I have ever seen for an anime. Admit there are those Recap episodes, but they just got in the way of the show, and the show was normaly less then one hundred episodes to begin with.
But with this, its an entire recap on 10 years of the best anime on the planet, to me, its almost a mirical!

I think it will just be an narrator telling the story, while some images are shown, and we'll get real scenes with the characters talking only for the most important moments. Otherwise it wouldn't fit in a regular sized OVA.

So if I've read the manga but not watched the anime would this be appropriate for me to watch? Does the anime follow the manga story line closely?

ofc.
if you finished the manga you can watch this...

tho it will be for teh first time when you will hear the voice actors and such.. and you may find it strange lol)
anyway if you read the manga ( finish it before watching the ova) you can watch it

I haven't watched the anime yet but I've read about 15 volumes of the manga. I plan to be almost caught up on the manga by the time this comes out. Still not sure if I want to watch the whole anime since it's 400 something episodes and counting and I just don't have that kind of time :(

So if I've read the manga but not watched the anime would this be appropriate for me to watch? Does the anime follow the manga story line closely?

I'll watch it too for sure, especially since the anime looks kinda ugly at tthe start, it will be great to see nice graphics for the beginning of the story.

I'm curious as to how they will fit 10 years worth of anime in a OVA though.

im so happy about this, but...how the hell are the going to put all 400 episodes into 1 ova? maybe ALOT of ova's might be the case, but as those other people said, the made the alabaster arc into a 2 hour movie, and it still cut alot of the arc out!

should be interesting to see though.

GOD DAMN IT NOW I WANT TO SEE IT D:

so excited~! >.<

Can I skip the rest then?

Feb 12, 2010 10:42 AM by Hideyoshilover

Then I won't be watching the OVA...watching those 400+ eps would take me...errr forever? XD

I'll try to watch it if I got nothing to watch.

watching the Ova WITHOUT the series is retarded
its like going straight to university, skipping the school...

Right...if you'll only watch the OVA you'll miss all the epicness! And man after you finish the current episodes you'll ask for more.

I remember the 8th One Piece Moive (One Piece: Episode of Alabaster - Sabaku no Ojou to Kaizoku Tachi) summing up the whole Alabasta Arc and, though the big cuts, it was 2h long. I really wonder how they want to accomplish that for the complete series...

WOw... can't wait..

I wonder when it'll be..

I'll watch it, but not for awhile. I JUST started One Piece and am only on episode 20. I'm thoroughly enjoying the series and I don't want a recap OVA to ruin it for me.

I think a few OVAs that is 140 mins a piece could probably recap arcs instead of putting it all into one OVA. A movie isn't enough either.

I'd say if it would be like that the first one would go from when the series first starts up to when Nami rejoins. Then

Having people watch this to "catch up" just doesn't sit right with me.

One Piece is a fantastic series that actually makes usage of how long it is to be even better. If you don't watch/read the actual series you're going to miss out on a lot of the emotion and the attachment to the characters, and that series will seem not as great.

I agree. I mean this possibly has a chance of people going "Hey, this actually looks really interesting, maybe I should try watching all of it" and then finding out that all the sub-plots not in the OVA inspire them to keep watching the series.

I really just hope as you said people after watching this think they know all about One Piece, and when you mention someone like Vegapunk, they just go, what?

Sounds awesome.

It really must be a blow to a manga-ka if your 10 year series can be told in a few OVA's.

It really can't. They're just going to cut out way too much shit like the Arabasta movie they made.
