But AniDB says that there will be only one episode. And it's more side story or spin-off than alternative version.

More than 1. The second episode isn't going to be released until sometime in December, though.

Oh, and contrary to what Westlo said when he replied to me, it does have the same director (and character designer) as the TV series, but they were probably asked to keep it closer to the content in the manga.

As a result, we got girls kicking butt in bikinis and a couple of other random stories. Not bad, but definitely not what made Kure-nai one of my favourite anime either.

Fuck yes. I can't wait. I love the manga and it's designs!

If the designs are going to be like the ones displayed here, which are a lot like the manga (thank god!), it will be a pleasure to watch! I hope Yayoi is in it, with her psycho like eyes she displays on the manga xD

Can't go wrong with Kure-nai.

The character designs were probably changed to be more in keeping with the ones in the manga (The TV series' character designs were based off the novel), suggesting it may be more Shounen-ny than the TV series, so probably not as good. I hope they keep Brains Base as the production studio at the very least.

No the anime designs were different from the lightnovel and manga designs. Yamamoto Yamato who designed and drew the characters for the light novels is the one who's doing the manga together with the original author.

Brains Base is being kept on, I doubt it will have the same director as the tv series though... many light novel and manga fans weren't happy with how he adapted Kure-nai...

This is being bundled with a manga volume, it's aimed at manga fans, it's going to be based on a manga chapter as well as have some original content.

Definitely going to give this a try!! ^^

OMG, are they finally reverting to the manga designs?! Oh yes!! Not that I had anything against the anime's designs, but I've always wanted to see Yamato Yamamoto's art style animated. Time to read up on the manga~
