The official website for the television anime adaptation of Masakuni Igarashi's Mattaku Saikin no Tantei to Kitara manga revealed a pair of supporting cast and a character promotional video on Friday. The anime is scheduled to premiere in 2025.

Tomohiro Yamaguchi (Ensemble Stars!! Road to Show!!) and Aya Hirano (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu) are joining the cast as Yuu Asunaro and Hana Kazamaki, respectively. Rion Kujou (Yuusha ga Shinda!, Hagure Yuusha no Aesthetica) is directing the anime.

Igarashi (Senryuu Shoujo) began drawing the mystery comedy manga in Dengeki Maoh magazine in April 2016. Kadokawa shipped the 15th volume on August 27.

@Yubisoft Then why are you making such a comparison, because as far as I remember, SK is a surreal sci-fi parody.

@RobertBobert Yes , that's exactly what I am doing. After all Mattaku Saikin no Tantei to Kitara manga is a series that focus on drama and detective stories with absolutely zero comedy

@Yubisoft Are you comparing detective shonen comedy to Saiki Kusuo?

@RobertBobert I personally have read 3 chapters of Mayonaka Heart Tune and watched some eps from Senryuu Shoujo
from this mangaka and I immediately dropped them. I learned about this manga when the anime adaptation was announced here on mal and after reading I instantly became a fan of this manga. It is perfect for a Saiki Kusuo fanboy like me. And after seeing that Hanazawa will voice the female main protagonist , I couldn't ask for more.

@Yubisoft Now you have me intrigued. As far as I know, the author's previous work was a yon-com rom-com.
