Inoue and Yoshioka began serializing the manga in good! Afternoon magazine in April 2014. Kodansha published the 22nd volume on April 5, with the 23rd volumes going on sale on October 7. Grand Blue has a cumulative 10 million copies of its volumes in circulation worldwide.

Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English in November 2017 and released the 19th volume in June 2023. The 20th volume is set for a November 19 release.

A live-action film produced by Warner Bros. Japan opened in Japan in August 2020, grossing over 452 million yen (approx. US$3.1 million).

The staff is already shown up there, and Shinji Takamatsu is already great for comedy. No need to change.
S1 was far inferior to the manga, the director just could not make the same impact, so if they keep it for S2, it will be more of the same, fun and good to watch, but not at the PEAK level of the manga.

Wow, I thought they gave up on it. Peak back at the game I guess. Damn.

@Yaaceen the same joke still good if they deliver differently tho and not every episode about alcohol like the tennis, beauty pageant, festival and campus life but if it still doesn't make u laugh then maybe this anime isn't for you

Sep 30, 2024 8:18 AM by Fraakartz

@Fraakartz But i've watched the tv show and it's all about the same jokes and most of them are only about alcohol so I've never understood why it's so praised, because even a good joke becomes annoying after reppeated so many times.

Sep 30, 2024 5:52 AM by Yaaceen

@Yaaceen its not always about alcohol, the 99% alcohol thing bcs new people thought that this will be diving anime from s1 poster but no its about college life and alcohol
