'Tono to Inu' Unveils Main Staff, Theme Song, First Promo

The official website of the Tono to Inu (The Lord and the Dog) television anime revealed the main staff, theme song, and a promotional video on Wednesday. The anime series adapting Rie Nishida's historical slice of life manga will air each episode four times a week on Tokyo MX, followed by MBS.

First broadcast: Akio Ootsuka (Ore, Tsushima) as Lord, premiering on October 10 at 9:54 p.m.
Second broadcast: Tomokazu Sugita (Gintama) as Lord, premiering on October 11 at 7:26 p.m.
Third broadcast: Shunsuke Takeuchi (Vinland Saga Season 2) as Lord, premiering on October 13 at 6:55 p.m.
Fourth broadcast: Masaki Aiba of Arashi as Lord, premiering on October 15 at 1:00 a.m.

SUPER★DRAGON is performing the theme song "Little Lovers." Souhei Mishima from cinema staff (Shingeki no Kyojin second ending theme) is composing, arranging, and penning the lyrics of the theme song.

Nishida originally posted the manga on their Twitter account in November 2020 before beginning a short-term serialization on the Comic Polaris web magazine in March 2021. Regular serialization began in the magazine in October that year. Flex Comix released the third volume on February 15, with the fourth volume planned for an October 15 release.
